Before the spots are filled, I'd like to bring to your attention the following rules:

1) Everyone will get a "You are townie" pm. Followed by a PM about what role you have (if any). In case you don't get a second pm, you are and will forever be a townie. (days's suggestion so we can stop with the photoshop thing)

3) The cop. The person that will get a "You are the cop" PM from me has the opportunity to ask me in a pm if another player is mafia. The reply I will give will either be "Yes" or "No". The cop will ask only at night, when the mafias make their kill, and not during the deliberation in the town square. You can ask as long as you are alive.

4) The doctor. The person that will get a "You are the doctor" PM from me can save a person every night. He/She just has to send me the name of the player he/she wants saved for that night. Cannot save the same player 2 nights in a row. Saving yourself is also allowed but again, not 2 nights in a row. In case the doctor sends me the name the mafias picked, no one will die that night.

5) The slut. As the night falls on DXPville, the creatures of the night start frolicking too. The slut will send me a PM with a name of the player he/she wants to fuck. If that name corresponds to any of the 5 mafias, no one will die that night.

6) The tracker. This Townie will send me a player that he/she will track for the night. They will not find out the persons role but If that person visited someone else (either to kill or to fuck or save or investigate) I will PM them whom they visited.

7) The crooked cop. An associate of the Mafia. Will not know who the mafia is however. Will send me a PM of who they want to investigate and lock up in jail the next day. That person will be locked up the next day and I will PM the crooked cop if that person has a role. That person cannot vote in the day but also cannot be banished from Vegas. He cannot lock up the same person twice in a row. [When fucked by the slut the mafia will still be able to kill. If killed or outed will only show up as THE COP. Can only be found out as THE CROOKED COP by the real cop]

I want to play but your schedule won't work for me. 😢 I'll sit this one out..

It will be the same schedule as the last game. Just the first night will take place monday between like 2-9 dxp time because i have to go to a funeral tuesday morning and wont be able to post

dxp is my first intro to Mafia so I'm still learning so bear with me. 😛 I think I get the roles but question about Crooked Cop...

What happens if he locks up a Mafia member - are they banned from voting in Town too?

If so, how will he unknowingly be working for the Mafia if he can dwindle the Mafia's already outnumbered team?

If not, then the Crooked Cop will find out who the Mafia is by seeing them vote - or is that the point of his role?

If he does pick a mafia then yes the mafia member will not be able to vote that day. But he will then find out at that time that he locked up a mafia member and thats really the only way he can learn who is mafia.

I think the unanimous Night (pun intended) kill sucks. I was thinking either make the Mafia uneven and majority votes win the kill for that night.

or...

You can assign a Mafia member an alternating Godfather title (not role) each night. That Mafia member's kill vote is it for the night when it's their turn as Godfather.

What do you think?

As Mafia, it really does suck having no choice but to go along each night with a useless kill just for the sake of having to be unanimous. I'm still trying to figure out why the Mafia role is so coveted. Personally, I liked being a Townie - albeit a soon dead one - better. 🙂

It depends on how many people play to see what the ratio will be. I do like every member voting tho and whoever has the most votes is the kill. Thats how the first game worked.

I ask you to reconsider telling the crooked cops the roles of anyone.

The crooked cop is already going to be working with the mafia (If they choose to). They will likely know who townies are and will be able to lock them up so they cannot vote.

It takes away an advantage (Mafia already has many) from townies of having their secret powers.

Locking up a townie is powerful enough. Just a thought.

I like the cop learning the roles because it is a big Mind fuck for the mafia because the real cop could know who the mafia role is too and should the mafia trust that the cop saying he is the crooked cop is really the crooked cop or the real cop..

Useless complications. The reason why the game is good and popular is because the system works as it is.

The point of the game is almost like an Army trust exercise. Who can you trust, how do you find your allies, how do you target your enemies....or how do you infiltrate your enemies and create animosity...how low will you go.

It's not about (oh I'm the shop keeper and each day the Game Keeper gives me a tip on what role is attached to what person...and I have to decide on who to trust with the info).

I dunno...all I know is that Elle and Dazed shouldn't play games together lol that was unnecessary punishment.

I think there could at least one role added where a townie blends in with the mafias like an undercover cop.

The townies doesn't know who the other townies are and who the mafias are, but the mafias in the current setting does and they know who are the townies.

I think it'll make it interesting if there is one townie that the mafia doesn't know.

That seems a little too unfair to me because the person can then just come out and say who all the mafia is

However the cop can now act as an undercover cop if they so choose to take the chance to act like the crooked cop with the mafia

Days, I like the crooked cop role.

From my understanding, he just asks about people. He isn't part of the mafia but he's not outing mafia on the board. He just..finds out everything. I like the twist when he/she dies about referring to him/her just as The Cop.

I am against him locking up anyone though.

I like him/her as a rogue agent.

So.. Lets say that my loud mouth throws a name out early on and I convince a townie or two to vote with me..

The mafia and rest of townies and bandwagon. It's an added advantage to the mafia.

It also makes want people to vote at the last minute, or not at all.

How do we fix this?

Day time is 10 hours.

During the 1st 8 hours, anyone can vote for who they want. At the end of those 8 hours, you tally the votes, and for the remaining 2 hours, everyone votes on the top 3 with the highest votes tallies.

During those 2 hours.. All 3 players on the chopping block have to give a reason why they are not mafia. Also.. When you cast a vote, you have to give a reason why. You can't just say "I vote for dazed".

idk if I like all that voting since its hard enough to get some people to vote as it is. The next host can do it tho.

I do like the giving a reason for the vote but what would constitute a good enough reason to count. Is 'i vote for impulve because dazed is too.' a good enough reason or no

Not worth taking the risk when townies outnumber mafia 2:1.

But I can roll with it, if enough people play.
