I know what you mean...
About two years ago I deleted around 300 people... Same story, just no real connections.
Numbers went down sure, but quality interactions went way up.
Not sure if anyone noticed to be honest. Personally, no regrets.
Just do it.
i delete errybatty lol. if i haven't spoken with someone directly in the last 6 months or so, bye.
I'm like that as well. But for me the cut off time is 1.5-2 years.
The last time I culled, I think I deleted roughly 30+ people I barely knew lol (people I used to work with, people I interacted with at events etc.)
Just do it if you feel like there's no benefit or loss to you, for you to delete them.

I delete, dont even think about it, have had one nut-job reaction from it. other than that it's been pretty good and freeing.

I have 200 odd friends on Facebook and this consists of people I was friends with through school and university as well as people who were in my year in school but didn't necessarily hang out in the same groups.
I also moved school when I was 13 so have people on Facebook from both my schools.
I don't know about anyone else here but I stopped a long time ago accepting requests from people who I recognised but didn't speak to. It's like some people add everyone they recognise even if they have no intention of dropping you a message to see how you are?? These days people can know all that's going in your life without having to make the effort of making contact :/
I kind of feel like deleting lots of people because we are not actually friends in real life these days, often don't have anything in common and never comment/life each other's posts.
Has anyone ever had a massive cull of Facebook "friends"?
Did you regret deleting people from your past?
There is only about 50 Facebook friends that I want to keep because I like what they post, I added them because we have the same passions and interests, we regularly message etc. Why should everyone I went to school with know what's going on in my life if they never make an effort to re- connect?
