Here's my deviantart gallery. Dig through the folders on the left and study some of the photos in them. That will give you an idea of what I mean by having an artistic eye, using lines, perspective, light, etc. to your advantage. I make it my business to take some of the most overlooked moments and find the magic in them so that a dried weed, or a piece of wood is so much more than it seems.Btw is that your horseβ
Depends on which one. The one playing in the snow, and the two with their faces together are both mine. The one standing in deep snow was my sil's mare, but she's been gone for almost 5 yrs now.
I loff teh horses. They're so purdy.

Thank you! They're my goofy darlings....both Tauruses, too. STUBBORN mules that they are. lol
Taken with the new camera.

LOVE the fuzzy bird butt! Those are great. π
Composition examples. When you look through the view finder, you basically have to ask yourself, "is this balanced?" It doesn't necessarily mean centering the shot. It can also mean using enough negative space to complement the positive space. It also depends on what you want to do with the shot. What do you want the eye to be drawn to first?

Right?? Omg I had so much fun with them last spring. I was able to test out my camera's capabilities and was really happy with the results. I was sitting on the ground next to my ficus tree for like 10 minutes while he stayed there and groomed himself. I even got some video of that as well haha. I loff them.

Haha aw. My mom had a horse when I was little and my dad was into horseback riding a bit.
Grew up with a horse family even though we didn't have them a majority of my life. I just loff them haha.

I'm the same way! I'm self taught in art, jewelry and photography. I pick up tips, etc. and apply them when needed, but then I like to just get hands on and do my thing.
Yeah, I've always been more hands on and a visual learner. I loved my lab classes in school. Made understanding concepts a lot easier than just reading from a book.

I use sugar water haha.
They like what I already have in the yard, but they looove that sugar water! I think I had like 6 frequenting my yard this last spring. A few hung out for a bit, I discovered recently, so I put out a few feeders because it's winter and wtf. EAT BABIES, EAT.

He must use the D80 for his sports stuff.
@rockyroadicecream, I've almost always had horses. Grew up riding, and never outgrew it.
I use sugar water, too, but I've never had luck getting hummers to drink. Usually the ants find it first. I have a friend who gets a couple dozen at her feeder at any given time. I'm not sure if I'm not putting my feeder in a place they like or what. They like my flowers, though.

It could be the feeder. I have larger ones that are just fine, but they're like meh, no. We're going to use these little tube feeders you got for a dollar.
It's about the brightness of it all, which is why they're always bright red and yellow. I have some with the perches, which is ideal so they can rest while drinking, but NOPE. They're like, no it's okay. We like these cheap ones. They come with little hangers, so I just plant those in existing pots so the feeders blend in with whatever plant the pot has.
I used a digi-cam for this:

Ah, sorry, misread.
Your brother probably uses the Nikon more. More mp and versatility. The other two are quite old and smaller mp. The Fuji is nice, but at 4mp, it's not ideal for photography at this point.

Maybe that's the problem. Mine is one of those cute and fancy ones. It's actually made from a glass bottle, and the base has copper flowers. I'll have to try a cheap red and yellow one and see if that changes things. Snobby birds snobbing on my fancy feeder! π

Well the funny thing is that we have this beautiful glass one that worked in the past, so it's why I was so frustrated with them last spring haha. "YOU'VE USED IT BEFORE, YOU BASTARDS. WTF" :/
But nooo. They want to use the tiny ones that I have to refill every few days haha.

Seriously. They're feisty. Two were fighting in my yard the other day. Several buzz in front of my sliding door to bitch at the cats chilling behind it. I let one out once in awhile to get grass and one or two are bound to be buzzing around and will hover above her, chirping angrily. "INTRUDER GO AWAY, THIS IS MY YARD!"

Yeah, I've never understood why people post photobucket album links. People can get right into your profile and get to your other albums, which from what I've seen, have had more personal stuff. People just don't think about that and their real names are given out, what they look like, and anything else that could be personal in those albums. Depends on what they have in them.

I don't know why but nobody noticed that this pic has some dramatic colors in it that I really like. It sort of makes me feel "nostalgic" about it. The pair of feet on the right side is mine and the one on the left belongs to my sister. Picture taken, April 26, 2015. One of the happiest days of my life.

If you take more like this, pay attention to the perimeter of the shot, too, not just the center focus. See how the bench on the left got cut off, and the building on the right, too? They're distracting and they make clutter on the edges that draw your eye away from the focus. Move to a spot that keeps them out, or crop. I'd move to another spot because I really like as many of those trees in the frame as you can get, but at the same time you want them to sort of "frame" the shot.

Canon dominates the market and people get all fanboy over it.
Nothing wrong with Nikons at all. It boils down to personal preference, tbh.
