Have what ever you are going to talk about well prepared, breath and don’t rush. Feel in control and you will be fine
I say to talk to them as if they are your friends. Crack a joke or two in there.
They are all great replies, thanks guys 👍😊
Ask a question to start...lowers anxiety for everyone including the speaker.
Only talk about what your passionate about.

Posted by AnotherTaurusGuyReturnsI think you’re supposed to do it naked so you don’t feel nervous.
😲😈
Lol
Choose friendly face and talk to that person as if there weren’t anybody else there. I know it works because a lot of times I found speaker is staring at me and then I found out why. It’s a technique...
Depends on how long is your speech - maybe choose another one while speaking to not to make that ‘chosen’ one to freak out...
Good luck and report back please. 👍
Posted by alexscariesPosted by MyStarsShineI have been asked to speak in front of a group of people on Friday night about my work. Although I've no problem talking, I kind of feel self conscious standing at the front of a room and addressing people
Any tips on how to remain focused and fluent would be appreciated
Thanks

From my experiences I learn what I am going to say more or less by heart and then improvise it. No papers - but that's me. I would try to figure out any questions people may have and think of answers in advance if there is any chance of a q&a.
I see the nerves as excitement. Also if there's an opportunity for a joke I find it helps break the ice and wins the audience over early on.
