Pretentious social gatherings often involve displays of arrogance, superficial conversations, and a focus on status symbols. Attendees may show off, gossip, or seek validation. Recognizing these behaviors helps in understanding social dynamics and maintaining authenticity in such environments.

i want to know the placements of that pretentious lawyer-diva who pretended that she doesn't want to speak up but at the last minute raised her hand. LOL. i was not surprised anymore. but duh.
Someone blurts this out
I come from a prominent and affluent family. My dad used to be the mayor of the town. He's a lawyer. My sister's a physician, I'm a cpa lawyer and my mum is a well-known veterinarian.
lol
^^nobody says that in a social gathering but the pretentious people. lol. but i said it in the appropriate context. i hope you understand me, ands.

You think I am but you're wrong. I didn't even mention what I do for a living and when asked where I am connected, I sheepishly said, "IBP." It's like, what is the gala for? I don't like attending these kinds of stuff. I know I'm a lawyer but do I have to mention this and that? What for? I didn't say anything the entire night.
The girl next to me kept on saying her daughter's going to Pisay Diliman. I was like, she hasn't taken the test. Lol. And I have classmates who went there who aren't exactly successful. The kid is just a kid. Let her play games and enjoy her youth. You're robbing her of the most precious part of her life.
My idea of a really 'social' gathering is people talking about ideas, activities, food, hobbies, economic issues (not political ---- hell no), climate change, development, tourist spots, sports, health and fitness, art, literature... and not material things, status, jobs, or schools they went to, etc etc etc...
It's a party where people get to learn from others and not to talk about 'themselves'. LOL.
idk i guess they are boring?
i think i'll remember them so not boring... but i've been to other social gatherings where people were genuinely having a good time.
i just think that talking about careers, schools, and achievements (oh god, plenty of this at the party i just went to) made me want to roll my eyes plenty of times.
