The types of mental illness vary between gender. Suicide is most often associated with depression, and yet women suffer from depression more than men.
The difference is women can openly express it, and not have to worry about people calling them weaker humans. Men are taught to never show it, or talk about it, or let it out and cry about it. The second they do people walk away, or just stick around long enough to call them pathetic.

I don't think men repress their emotions, it's just that women are more inclined to talk a lot, I supposed there might be hormonal reasons. Women can just sit together and talk about nothing.
I do think men are more fragile than women, biologically. women are the base biological state with a big reproductive task taking a toll. Men have a less taxing reproductive task to carry and the excess energy is used to grow beyond the basic state, but this growth can go in the positive or in the negative direction.
There are more geniuses but also more idiots in the male population.

For those living outside of North America but have spent some time there, how do you think the stigma against men expressing emotions compares to where you're from? Is it stronger, with men expected to be even more stoic, or is it less?

I don't think is a geographical thing, more a generational thing.
The amount of things a male can get away with nowadays, vs what was allowed in the 60s or 70s for example is incredible. The average youtubr would have been sent to a mental institution in the 60s.
That said males fully use their newfound freedom but does that make them actually happier? I'm not sure because having a bit of discipline can be beneficial sometimes. And this is valid for both males and females.

If there is no stigma around "being emotional" or reaching out for help as a male then why aren't more men doing it? Is it because we love bottling that shit up and contributing to a toxic culture of silence; or is it a result of conditioning?
Since you say men "always have sorry excuses when it's time to pay" you are really saying it's a conscious choice we make to suffer and not a part of the social conditioning we are all contributing to.

Ya, as a woman, it seems to me that it's men who give each other the most shit for being emotional. The other women I know don't mind, as long as they don't use it as an excuse to get guanoloco. And as long as they actually DO something (constructive) about it, don't just cry.

I think if I absolutely had to choose from the 2 extremes, I'd still prefer today. Suppressing emotions and forcibly fitting oneself into a mould seems bad for the physical health in the long run.

You think they just had a chat and decided on that. No, just as the Neanderthal didn't wake up one day and figure he needs to "fit in" with his tribe, or that he sure could use a male ego.
Social cues and cultural norms may vary from one culture to another, hence the variety in how the male cultures (in this case) may be slightly different across the globe (as in the case of your latin men), but yet have more in common than not.
