For those of you who support transgenders in the bathrooms, is an "I see myself as a woman" claim enough to get them in?

This applies to every place in the country. No matter how poor it gets. The same bathrooms minors use.

Or do they have to look they tried to look like a woman?

From a scale of a simple claim to a background check and verifiable reassignment surgery,

which p3nises (from all over the country, not just the likable trans online)

are trustworthy enough to use the same restroom as a 12 year old girl without her parent?

It's not an easy subject.

Using the 12 year old girl example: there are females of any age that you couldn't trust with your daughter. Has nothing to do with biological sex or Trans. Any person that identifies as female would probably not be comfortable in the men's room. I do feel that they should be respectful of all others that may use the ladies room.

There is a woman in my town and now that people are more comfortable she is referred to as a she. Sadly she does not look or sound like a she.

I don't want to legislate this. Can't we wait until there is a run on the women's room that needs to be dealt with. I have not seen this issue happen.

My husband is friends with a trans man who is stocky and has a giant red beard. He's even balding. You would _never_ suspect he was born female, but he also still has his vagina and has no intentions of getting rid of it. He even goes to pride festivals wearing t-shirts proclaiming his vagina status. Do I find it odd and wonder why the fuck this is a thing? Sure I do. Do I want to tell him where to pee? No, but it would be weird as fuck if he was in the women's room.

This part confuses me..the proclaiming of vagina status.

If they feel they are a man, truly, why volunteer and go out if the way to make it known they have + were born with vag?

The men who ID as women generally go full woman + assume the role.

If they believe they are a man why do that?

I knew a trans from this studio where I worked, a he to she, and every social gathering that happened they'd work their genitals into the convo. People would vacate the room. Why do that? Just be a man.

headscratcher...

in the uk, it's estimated that only 2.8% of transgender people surgically transition and/or have hormonal treatment. most people who identify as trans do not modify their body.

you know, i've been thinking about this for a few hours and seeing how i would feel. i've come to the conclusion that i would LOVE to see a big bearded, balding male presenting woman in the ladies toilets. i think it would be great. i think it would be shocking and revolutionary. i would fully support something like that.

I live in a good neighborhood, but for whatever reason, the park by my house has shady bathrooms. Not long ago, a grown ass man was waiting in the pavilion, to try to assault a kid.

Your fear of trans people is unwarranted. Regular males try to diddle children all the damn time. Be a decent person and don’t use shady bathrooms.

You said it for me. Everyone is so concerned about the fact that the “Trans” individual will harm their kids, or do unquestionable things in the bathroom, but what about priests, teachers, and trusted men who harmed children? I think society is quick to judge and regulate things they don’t understand.....

a trans man/ woman using the bathroom is the least of our worries. What about the millions of girls being abducted for sex trafficking? Where someone goes in and out to use the rest room is ridiculous to try to regulate.

The safety of the children is just a mask to hide their real fears.

Not once have I seen anyone mention the safety of the transwoman when forced to use the men's toilet.

Because they don't give a shit. Because a trans woman deserves to get verbally abused/beaten up/raped/ murdered for "choosing" to become a woman.

Because safety of the children.

Because they don't care as long as you don't rock the boat with your ideas or damage the status quo.

Sex trafficking, abductions, and trusted men harming children are all very real problems. They're the main reason for why there is a bathroom concern in the first place.

Just because someone questions which transgenders should be let in the

women's bathroom, doesn't mean they hate transgenders.

A lot of people who question this, support transgender people. They simply don't want to give people who lie and abuse, to have another venue to do this.

That's why I asked, for the people who support trans in the bathrooms, what would be the requirements?

Should we let them all in? Even if they have no history of ever being trans?

There are many transphobes out there who will use this excuse. There are also many who question this action who aren't transphobic. You can support trans people, but still have these concerns. It is not a crime to question things.

I've asked what would be the benefits of trans women going into the bathrooms. And I immediately thought of safety for them.

I just wish that more people in the transgender community, would not be so quick to judge other women who have their own fears too.

As children, many cis women got told not to walk alone outside or they might get raped. To always carry pepper spray, a keychain knife, don't get murdered, etc.

Trans women worry about this after they transition.

Cis women get told this since they're children. If your parents didn't, society let you know.

Silencing the cis women who have had a different experience that gives them different reasons to have the concerns they have, because it would be bad to not be inclusive, is incredibly ironic.

That being said,

what would be the requirements you would implement?

Would you let everyone in? Including someone with no history of feeling like a different gender?

Those trans women were probably a target before their transition as well. Matthew Shepard much?

Personally, I have no problem with even unisex toilets, so you probably don’t want my opinion.

I think a lying perv will abuse the bathroom privileges and use it as an opportunity with bad intentions. But it’s not going to happen all the time. A non transgender man would need a lot of confidence to do this.

I’ll admit. I will use the mens bathroom when I’m drunk, really gotta pee, and the line for the women’s room is a mile long. I don’t have a problem sharing bathrooms.
