What about you Creepy? Are you ready to date again?

superb question. i was driving home from the grocery store listening to edm on the radio and this track had some sappy lyrics. and then i realized that just about every song the radio plays has sappy lyrics. and then i realized how jaded i sounded to myself. and then i realized i'm not sure i believe in love

...at the moment. the last taurus i dated for a hot minute AND the scorpio really doused my embers.

i think that means i'm not ready. i can't do it half hearted. it makes me feel gross.

i've been thinking of doing an emotional cleansing of some sort just to get my spirit straight.

...suppose i could've just said 'no' 😛

I was trying to force myself to date and it doesn't fucking work. I don't care how hot his body is, lol.

Ahhhh those scorpio wounds take a while to heal:/

We need some sorta group therapy to get over those leeches.

But seriously, I don't think dating should be half-hearted. It needs to happen organically.

So true.

hey I hear there are some group therapy sessions in Las Vegas lol 😛

The scorpio is a tough one because all of my friends here are his friends. So... it's pretty much guaranteed that he and I have to face each other at some point.

What it takes to be happy is to be happy with yourself and by yourself. Then someone comes along and you two are happy together, by sharing your individual happiness with each other.

God, I am so smart.

perfect in theory, but it seems like some guys dont know how to bend a little when necessary. there's some expectation that the woman does all the compromising.

at least from what i've experienced!

This sounds good. Plus I'm too lazy right now to come up with my own list.

😛 once you write out a couple... the rest start coming to you.

- Beauty. I have to be turned on and attracted to her. I have to love looking at her face.

- Emotional clinginess, the will to stay together regardless of anything. i need this because i'm not clingy at all.

- Passive, because I'm assertive.

- Quietness. Don't need 2 loud people up in this joint.

- Not lazy. Someone who helps around the place. cooks and cleans. I'd do my share.

- Sexual. this is what separates friends from lovers.

- A good heart. She could be rude and bitchy, but as long as she's nice in the core of her being... that matters to me. I want her to cry and have empathy, compassion. I lack them.

if a girl has all of this, then we can work it out.

Oh this is a fun question. Okay things that make me happy when I'm involved with someone...

Laughter - She's got to be able to laugh at my retarded jokes because I like to make my gal laugh at least once a day (It's good therapy!). Conversely I have to be free to laugh unabashed.
"Anyone can be passionate. It takes real lovers to be silly with each other."

Sex / Physical Intimacy - Yep! Often and well. Connection on this level in both giving and receiving. Sexual compatibility is important!

Smart / Wit - I need someone that can verbally joust me. The days of dating stupid women are long gone. Despite our current anti-intellectual culture, a smart woman is f'ing sexy.

Foodie - I like eating well and experiencing new things. Thus I enjoy it when she can as well. Plus, I need SOMEONE that's brave enough to try something new I made for the first time 😛

Nothing worse than...

Me: Baby, look at this gourmet meal I just made for us!
Her: I just want a grilled cheese...every day.....and a glass of water.

(NOPE.COM ON THAT!)

Heart isn't ruled by fear - A bit obtuse. I know.

I suppose I could go on with countless little things but in the end...
What makes me happy is if she's smart, thoughtful, and generous. Everything else usually just falls into place.

to make you HAPPY in a relationship?

List 10 things...

Things don't make me happy.
They say that true happiness is to be found within, not without.
Therefore to be happy in a relationship, one must first, be happy, alone.
Then, when two people can be happy alone, they multiply their happiness twice as
much when they are together.

Though I agree with this concept, I still believe most people have a mental checklist of some of the things they want from a partner. Come on play along. What are yours?

PVAF,
I am at that age in my life, wherein answering that question is extremely difficult to honestly answer with absolute certainty.

I don't disagree that people have a "checklist" but I don't think I ever really consciously made up a "checklist".

The reason for this, I think, is because having a checklist is like laying down the rules.
When I lay down the rules, people scatter. That is, they don't like the rules.

1) be honest
2) be faithful and do not doubt, do not waver.
3) be trustworthy
4) be attentive and contemplative
5) be genuine
6) be careful
7) be thoughtful
8) be disciplined
9) be responsible
10) Be ever mindful of and beware of violating any of these

All are of equal importance.

That being said, how many people can you honestly say would be willing to
subject themselves to that crucible? And of those people, how long do you
suppose they could last? Even then, if that did not make me happy........, what?

Which...... is why I said what I said.

And that reminds me. I'd like to add:
"When two people are miserable alone, they multiply their miseries twice as
much when they are together."

Mr Firebird and PVAF...

I agree with you both...

i quote geminicandle... love should be organic.

rules really detract from that.

but imo and in my experience... if we can know what we dont want... we should know what we do want. it's only fair.

it is a very difficult question to ask ourselves, but also a very mature question to answer. and i dont think it's necessary to lay it all out like moses and the ten commandments... if an s.o. is fulfilling some of those requirements just fine, then there's definitely a way to say you always want that without making it sound like a rule. anything else that just needs to be said... honesty no matter what, etc... always know your audience. talk to your lover like they are someone you hold in high esteem... not as though they are a child that had better mind themselves.

the manner of delivery is always important and makes the biggest difference in how well it's received.

I don't want a controlling ego maniac but not a push-over either.
Someone who makes me want to tear off his clothes every time I see him😛

I like this list a whole lot HV 🙂

Obviously there are all sorts of physical wishlisty type things (ahem; make mine a Ryan Gosling ta) but I really need laughter to have love... Giggling with someone special makes my heart, hands and nether regions tingle 😛

Trust is a big one too.
Vision-> Life goals. Secret to a great romance still seems to be timing.
Kind.

Also, they might need to be a little offbeat (aqua rising *waves*) and/ or geeky.

Indeed, manner of deliver is always important but not everyone is skilled in the art of diplomatic communication when it is needed in intense moments. - this kind of moment is when misunderstandings
erupt and a fight ensues.

Believe it or not, there are people who mature and age physically, but mentally and emotionally, they
may not have caught up. Also, a vast majority of men and women often have the wrong idea of what love and relationships are all about. It begins with wanting to please, but then when pleasing, one day, is not met with appreciation, feelings are hurt, then, depending on the emotional maturity, how well that
experience is handled will dictate the response. If the response is poor, then the stability of the relationship is compromised and things begin to fall out of control.

Probably more people would stay than you think. The list doesn't look that bad.

And I agree two miserable people proping eachother in a relationship is a no-no.

Well, we have to remember that everyone is different. IF a woman is NOT as nutty as the nut
she's with, then she will get bored, up and leave. IF she sticks around, she only grows nuttier than
a fruitcake. IF he cannot keep up with her, then, something is bound to snap.

IF you asked me, I'd say that's nuts.

It's a fight between the head and heart, but the heart wins the most. I want to feel good about my decisions, since my conscience will eat at me if I don't. Sometimes this means I may not make the decision that serves my interests the best, but I make the decisions that I can live with. Ennegram has not been consistant for me. But I have taken the test Keirsey/Myers Briggs several times and gotten INFJ. What's your personality type?

That's what it appears to suggest.

I "think" that's why I am very misunderstood. I find that it is better to have all the facts in place
than just jump the gun and get upset or happy. This is probably where the "suspicious", "untrusting"
nature description attached to Scorpio. I say that because it has been said that INTJs often turn out to be Scorpios as well.

For me, facts are very important. In the court of law, the necessary facts are critical in ascertaining
suspicion of guilt and confirmation of innocence. IF feelings come first, the lynch mob mentality is likely to not be too far behind and that when mistakes are made. However, it does seem I have an extremely highly developed sense of suspicion to the point of practical prediction. Gut feeling if you will. At the same time I am also a life path 9 - these are the globalist types who comprehend global
events and/or global or peripheral influences on a matter and the "cause and effects" thereof.

My Leo nephew is an INTJ, he has some rather unpopular opinions as well that he likes to freely state. He gets a lot of eye rolls and sideway glances. Haha. I keep telling him to work on his people skills. It's not what you say...but when and how you say it.

For me, I value mercy over justice. Being an "F" rather than a " T" means I am more likely to try and understand the why behind a persons actions before passing judgement, rather than focus only on what they did. For example, did the man steal the bread because his family was starving, or because he is bored and liked the thrill. A "T" type may feel it is more fair to treat both men as equal, for committing the same crime. I would choose to show more mercy on the one who stole out of hunger because I can understand the desperation behind it. I'm a life path 4 if it means anything.

"I am more likely to try and understand the why behind a persons actions before passing judgement, rather than focus only on what they did."

Interesting. I did just that with regards to the recent Zimmerman trial.
I concluded that Trayvon Martin was simply a troubled kid who picked a fight he couldn't win. (I cite
Sun Tzu - "Know your enemy, know yourself")
->Zimmerman was man who had the misfortune of being the one who's life crossed Martin's path and
the ensuing physical confrontation turned deadly. Zimmerman has maintained self-defense.
->Sanford PD couldn't arrest him without probable cause and the story was blown far beyond out of proportion.
-> My research also revealed that Martin's death was highly exploited for political/financial gain.
I then discovered I was not alone in those conclusions.

Ordo Ab Chao - order from out of chaos
Develop a solution, create/exploit a problem, offer the solution.
Same kind of business occurred with 9/11.

Continued.

^^^ that said, I am more and more convinced that due to the different personality types, life experiences and other contributing factors such as "Personality Conflict" can wreak havoc on a society.

I'd be willing to bet that if people of compatible personalities were segregated from incompatible
personalities, both would be more at peace.

America (no doubt elsewhere too), is plagued by at least 192 different personalities and that number
can be multiplied many times over in the endeavor to find, divide and segregate individuals into
compatible groups - People of common like minds and experiences are grouped together then matched
with compatible counterparts.
