Comedy just not funny

Comedy is just so whack these days. They try so hard to be funny though, but the jokes are too slapstick, too 'intelligent', we have people acting like clowns just to be funny. Hollywood thinks it can be funny! These overpaid clowns are just not hungry enough. Adam sandler loses his dignity with every movie he releases, too many actors are trying to be comedians. I'm just so disappointed with the quality of work done by producers and writers in this decade that is so liberal in perspective, but they still can't do funny.

Generally in comedy I like films that are not into themselves. In this I mean that many hollywood films just seem to scream 'look at me, I'm very funny & important!'. I like films that don't try too hard almost like they are saying 'you can look at me, but don't expect me to try to make YOU laugh'. One of those movies is the independent 'hangin with the homeboys' I love the fact that the script flows, it's very natural, the delivery of jokes in there is not in your face.
