Watching the first one conjurned that feeling of sitting around a campfire and listening to someone making up a really fascinating ghost story, it's like you've heard it all before, only it's just slightly different. That Bat-looking creature is the creepiest thing since the old "Nightmare on Elm Street" days. I accidentally caught the sequal on tv the other night and I found it as good as the first one, if not better. There's a tingly sensation when you notice that the director has an eye for details and has actually put an effort into every single shot, even if it's not "high-art"... all the more respect.
... or is this one of those cases where I see greatness while everyone else is like, "wtf that was lame", as in the case of Shyamalan's "The Village". 😛
Both were very good. I love suspense, keeping you on the edge films. Even if the story line is a bit predictable it gets points for fear factor. How many are there? Is there a 3rd one?
