Fright Night: It was pretty creepy and not what I expected at all. Colin Farrell made a good looking vampire though.

Horrible Bosses: A really funny dark comedy. I enjoyed seeing Charlie Day in such a successful movie. His story line was the most entertaining. (I'm an avid "Sunny in Philadelphia" fan as well.)

I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 for about the millionth time last night too.

Super 8 - pretty good! Don't get why it's titled that, though. Anyone know?

The Woman in Black - really good ghost story. Hard to get past Daniel Radcliffe not being Harry Potter, but he did a good job in it. Not really scary, but it made me jump in my chair a few times!

phoenix, 'john dies at the end' is the movie title, hehe. 🙂

e, i think with 'pi' the book and movie work well each on their own. the details lost from the book were made up for with the awesome imagery. i can't get over the whale scene. 🙂

*paint a big "Duh" on my forehead*. I didn't go through the thread, so I assumed he was referencing a movie someone else mentioned. Put dat sh*t in quotes next time Triple E! You like how I threw the blame back on him for my mistake .

Last night I watched The Pact, which is fantastic, it has everything I look for in a psychological horror film, a very intelligent and artistic work that actually made me feel a little afraid.

I also watched The Afflicted, inspired by a true story, which is a thoroughly engrossing and disturbing film, even though it's not 100 percent true to the real story of Theresa Knorr, it's still worth watching and close enough, conceptually.

Horrible Bosses

Really funny, I was surprised at some of it, didn't know how cheesy it was going to be. Unfortunately Jennifer Aniston's character doesn't get picked off in the movie but that's no reason to give this one a miss imo.

that was a great show 😄

^^ Isn't it so sad that they didn't bother to find out who the real culprits were in the end? Looks like they just focused on slapstick comedy..

I forgot their names but if they found out Spacey's character was set up, then maybe Spacey wouldn't bear the full brunt of the murder.. afterall, he's just a horrible boss.. 😛 I think it was someone accidentally dropping their handphone in Spacey's house that triggered the murder.. so they didn't wrap it up in the end..

but who cares lol

Life of Pi....

4/5.....

Ang Lee deserved that Oscar, what he put on film was nothing short of spectacular. 2 hour movie that doesnt feel like 2hrs.
Not going to spoil it so i will just say that as an animal lover, especially Tigers, i was so conflicted at times. Would i feed myself to the Tiger to save its life? But then how will it survive...oh the irony.
A few animal suffering moments saddened me but its irresponsible to think that things are different in the wild.
If you have been on the fence about mending a relationship, this film will encourage you to seek that reconciliation through its theme.

The second story at the end will bend your mind and make you feel like a member of Mensa when you put it together.

Superman II: Richard Donner Cut

Clearly the superior version of the film in terms of storyline, characters, plot and development.

Hell yes to Marlon Brando's redemption scene with Christopher Reeve!

Star Trek. Decided to watch it since I saw the second one in theaters. Haha. I don't usually like space related things but these two movies were pretty cool.

Wow those alaskan wolves look more badass than xenomorphs. Didn't like.

We're no angels (1989)
not bad, but I was more focused on the early 90s mood and haircuts than the movie itself. On par with the original movie.

I just saw Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Some of the action scenes weren't bad, but it was a bit underwhelming to be honest. Not my favorite superhero movie.

Like Jaws, only with a black 1971 Lincoln Continental.

Not as bad as it sounds, but not as good either. The directing & the cinematography is definitely above average.
And so here we go, the WTF scene that makes the movie (every halfway decent bad movie had one of those! 😄 )

Just saw the US version of The Descent (2006). I liked it, even though I found it quite disturbing. Overall, pretty decent horror/suspense flick. I give it a 7/10.

SPOILER ALERT! I don't know if I read too much into it as a statement about human nature, but I found that whole message kind of eerie. How one of the girls had an affair with her best friend's husband, the way the girls slowly fall into the every-woman-for-herself it's-either-her-or-me mentality, the way even the best of friends can turn on each other...

I saw this with my friend, and when the movie was over, he said something that I thought was kind of profound. He said it was typical of and he could imagine how people could come into uncharted territory or an unexplored cave like that and just wipe out a race almost like the girls did with the 'beasts'. I wonder if that was one of the messages they were trying to send.

Anyhow, I like how they incorporated a lot of famous scenes from some of the most popular horror flicks. The only one that comes to mind now, though, is when Sarah stands covered in blood (a la Carrie), and the hand coming out of the ground (I can't remember which movie that's from).

I, Frankenstein with Aaron Eckhart ..

By FAR, my favourite actor/acting in this movie was Brit Bill Nighy who played the evil, calculating Naberius. Was again, pleasantly surprised as he acted in ALL three Underworld films where he play immortal ruler Viktor and General Friedrich Olbricht in Valkyrie. Eckhart brings MUCH* gravitas to the character of Frankenstein that the story depends on. Very GOOD movie, quality leads with loads of cinematic *eye-candy*; ENJOYED!
