"Warning" Incubus

"I suggest we

Learn to love ourselves,

Before its made illegal

When will we learn, When will we change

Just in time to see it all come down

Floating in this cosmic Jacuzzi

We are like frogs oblivious

To the water starting to boil,

No one flinches and we all float face down"

Why do I love apocalyptic books, movies, tv series and songs?

Umm i'm binge watching a show like that right now, it's called The 100.

What started as teen drama superimposed over an apocalyptic scenario has now turned properly into realism. It turns high school prom queens into war criminals.

Not petty theft but proper war crimes, fighting for survival means condemning to death 350 men, women and children who stand in your way by irradiating the inside of their nuclear fallout bunker.

This isn't even counting the Machiavellian plot of letting the same people nuke your allies, mother and friends all because you want them to think you are dead. We can add 200 dead in her name ( the mother, all ally leaders and all friends survive ofc)

First season is just enough to get you interested, but it's getting better and better with every season although i must say the constant U-turns are getting predictable because there's just so many of them.

You can expect that when things go okay or seem that way that they won't be anymore in the next 2 minutes anymore. Something always happens for suspense, either an alliance breaks or someone is abducted by someone and needs to be bartered or someone gets left behind etc etc

There's several threads of the story going on, the survival of the people from the space station against enemies on the ground, either savage melee wielding Grounders or survivors of the apocalypse in the aforementioned bunker who use chemical warfare against everyone and extract the blood and bone marrow of the wildlings on the ground to increase their own resilience against radiation, there's an nihilistic AI concept in there too, swallowing some chip makes you obedient to the same AI which launched the first missiles that caused the apocalypse, turning people into mindless drones, then there's a end of the world radiation storm danger looming etc etc....

Yeah, I've watched "The 100." Really good show. Interested to know your take on the characters...along the lines of the zodiac axes.

That's a really tough question tbh. Because once in power, options the "top person" has are limited to the options that align with the interests of the groups that propped him/her up.

Real life examples would be Obama's statements on Guantanamo bay closure, it's stil operational today and expecting new arrivals, Trumps statements on bringing the troops home and then increasing the Afghanistan bombing campaign two fold to the point bombs have to be transferred from Pacific air command to the Asian command because the latter spent all that was allocated to it.

So idk, it's really tough to make a call on the ppl's signs, even for the seemingly most obvious situations, like Chancellor Jaha and Clarke Griffin who in the name of "my people" literally go point by point down the list of war crimes. The only difference i see is, Clarke Griffin sheds three tears once every season while Jaha just copes with a stern look into the distance when contemplating his past actions.

I'm tempted to say both are aqua, but as the above real life example shows, many different signs can act the same when there's only so much options on the table.

Tool "Parabola"We barely remember who or what came before this precious moment

We are choosing to be here right now

Hold on, stay inside...

This holy reality, this holy experience

Choosing to be here in...

This body, this body holding me

Be my reminder here that I am not alone in...

This body, this body holding me, feeling eternal

All this pain is an illusion

Alive!"

Queens of the Stone Age "My God is the Sun"

"Far beyond the desert road

Where everything ends up

So good the empty space, mental erase

Forgive, forgot

Heal them, like fire from a gun

Kneeling, my god is the Sun

Heal them, with fire from above

Kneeling, my god is the Sun....

Godless heathens "

"Rapture" by Blondie

"Cause the man from Mars won't eat up bars when the TV's on

And now he's gone back up to space

Where he won't have a hassle with the human race

And you hip-hop, and you don't stop

Just blast off, sure shot

'Cause the man from Mars stopped eatin' cars and eatin' bars"
