Never heard this version before. CC and my brother both passed away last year at the age of 52, makes this song even more meaningful...

I love this song. Nice performance.

My condolences about your brother.

Thank you @Fantum. Losing a sibling is a very hard thing to go through, but he's still with me in spirit...

I can't even imagine the pain. My sister has been the constant all my life. Sounds like your brother still is, in his way.

My sister played this song over and over as a child after her mentor was killed in a car accident. This is probably my favorite rendition of it. Seems fitting.

It's gradually getting easier to deal with, it takes time to heal from the loss. Unfortunately he was my only brother, my hero in my early years.

Love Prince, saw him with Sheila E in the early 80's what a show...Here's one of my faves by him.

First my brother passed away in September, my father is now at his end of days...I wish him safe, comfortable passing to the other side, he's ready to see his son again.

Marvin idolized Cooke (January 22, 1931 - December 11, 1964) so much that he added the 'e' to his last name to make it Gaye in honor of Sam.

Big hugs to you! It's tough to lose or about to lose a loved one. It's a pain I don't look forward to feeling again. My thoughts are with you and your family.

BTW, love Stevie. I'm a native Austinite and we even have a statue of him here.

Thank you @metalaquamonkey, it's been a rough 6 months...

I'm a native Houstonian, love Stevie too. He was so talented, his fingers worked magic on that guitar.

I'm sure it has been rough. That's a lot to go through in such a short period of time. I wish peace and comfort to your father and hope for strength for you and your family. (っ´-`)っ

Heard this song while driving with the scorp a couple of Sundays ago. Tears started pouring out of my eyes, I later realized it was at the exact time my brother passed 9 months ago.

I'm standing here on the ground

The sky above won't fall down

See no evil in all direction

Resolution of happiness

Things have been dark

For too long

Don't change for you

Don't change a thing for me

all of them

I know it's so sad because they are no longer here on this plane with us but I believe we will all be jamming when we get to where they have already gone ...

That's my idea of a perfect afterlife, I'm going to hang out with Jimi, Janis, Jim Morrison, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Layne Staley, Scott Weiland, David Bowie and Chris Cornell and jam forevermore...

They said you can't sit with them.

Float, whatever... Never tell a person with MiS they can't do something, it won't work lol!

I'm not Mexican, but I have love for Selena Quintanilla. She was definitely taken too soon. Doesn't the lady who killed her get out of prison soon. Aye, I think it's better she stays in the jail.

My daughter in law was born in Mexico, she loved Selena...

It’s written in the Book of life!

Ever heard of child fell of 6th floor had no injuries? That’s why. Don’t question. No one goes before their time.

Here's a big loss. Look at his guitar skills at age 25. If he'd lived past 27, who is to say what he would have done.

Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn were in their own stratosphere of guitarists...I agree with you 100% ! Would love to hear what music Jimi would have conceived had he lived longer.

Bah! This could be said about any musician. The ones who really apply are those whose lives were cut short before they hit their stride (Jeff Buckley would be a decent example, although I don't think he was an astounding songwriter). Most of the artists mentioned in this thread had long reached their creative peak before dying...

I meant it more as their music is over, they won't be creating anything new. And for those of us that love music it's a sad, sad day when that happens...
