And let me just warn all you millennial and or perhaps Gen Y parents about the formula I was fed (see my previous post). It will fatten your baby up. That's just a small tip and if you take it upon yourself and go by my um well so call advice don't say I didn't warn you. I kinda felt like my parents neglected us because we all and most especially me grew up malnourished, scrawny as all hell but were all fat as babies. Amazing how I was born premature and just days later became a fat baby because of the formula I was being fed. So yeah if ya want then do it the old school way. Today's baby formula weren't around in my days as a baby.

I believe I was fed semolina type of grits. Also, ground tea-cookies (biscuit) with milk. Mind you, milk was probably a bit better quality than today. Soup and vegetables, chicken liver patte later.

There are ways to feed your baby. Generations of babies survived world wars and other tragedies. Your baby will survive!

I remember all too well being fed this as a post baby just teething Image Not Found

I used to love it then. Today, I can't see me eating that yucky shit. I suppose it's still good to feed babies that.

Babies who aren’t fed formula have less chances to have diabetes. But hey! Convenience BEFORE health benefits! For dumbasses who didn’t have rights to HAVE children to begin with…

Errp wrong! Do you even know the number 1 cause for diabetes? Cus I know. Having had it since 2015. If you don't have it and never experience symptoms from it then I wouldn't suggest you to know what causes it. And don't say overweight or obesity. That's not the cause of diabetes as a lot of non diabetics quick to put blame on weight.

“What causes type 1 diabetes? Type 1 diabetes occurs when your immune system, the body's system for fighting infection, attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas. Scientists think type 1 diabetes is caused by genes and environmental factors, such as viruses, that might trigger the disease”

Yes insulin resistant. Type 1s is the type one would have as a child. Most diabetics was born with type 1. Other number 1 causes factor in it is a lack of exercise which in my case I let myself go after I approached my 40s. That's what happens when you carry that fuck it attitude like me, and a poor improper diet.

I read type one isn’t preventable but as you explained type 2 is ....

Oh yeahhh type 2 definitely is. If I had even cared enough to seek medical attention right away as soon as I started feeling symptoms from it I wouldn't of had it to this day. But nooooo I ignored the warning signs thinking it's all good.

I’m sorry to hear that JJ 😕

Nah don't feel sorry. I'm the one should feel sorry but I don't. I blame myself.

Never too late to change your ways!

I did 😃

Yeah I know it's not too late. I'm doing something about it now. I'm taking something to speed up my metabolism and something to get me motivated and out the house. So far it's working a little bit. I notice my thinking of food has decreased a little. It's gonna take lots of time and patient for it to fully settle in.

Op maybe your dumb ass shouldn’t have supported trump.

Trump’s USMCA restricted imports of formula from Canada.

That left you vulnerable to domestic shock.

Wow who is going to be feeding all these babies born since no abortion.

Linear thinking really is lacking in the USA.

Orange man bad. Or are the powers that be deliberately restricting food supplies? It was difficult to buy flour during lockdown, but no shortage of cheap alcohol. 🤔

Or cigarettes or weapons for that matter....at least here in the state. Oh the irony!

Maybe the mothers on this thread, rolling their eyes at the other mother’s with formula issues, could start making homemade formula and donating it?!!

It’s so easy to bitch about other mothers when you think everything was so damn easy

Not everyone has support.

I am not a mom but I feel for women who have to just deal with this. It’s not as easy as just make something for the baby. USA is a stressful country to live in and especially if you don’t have support. Emotional, financial, social. It can be detrimental to mother’s and baby’s health.

However, people also have to realize that things are not going back to normal. There will be real food shortages and not just baby food shortages.

I would advice anyone to educate themselves on self-sufficiency, in every aspect of life.

I can't help you with anything regarding blood pressure. I don't have any issues with high or low blood pressure.

I don't know what it is you want me to share really. All I can say is that my doctor got me prescribed on semaglutide. It's a drug used to help speed up metabolism and it helps in keeping the brain sustained by thinking you've had enough to eat. It's only prescribe for those diabetics whose BMI is 27 percent or greater and last checked mines was around 42 percent. It goes up and down but at least it's off the 50 percent mark. I have lost weight but still can afford to lose more particularly around the waist area which is my problematic area.

So there ya have it.

I agree.

However, OP comes off as dismissive to those that are not as fortunate as her. A key factor is time and ability to adapt. Not everyone has those.

I also don’t think the American system supports any mother with breastfeeding. You can’t make money off of breast milk. High stress postpartum situations, and the pressure to go back to work do not help baby or mother.

Also no shortage of tobacco and cigarettes in the UK during lockdown ditto for vapes. Guns are illegal here without a license, the irony being criminal gangs often have them.

As much as I might frown upon it myself, I must give them credit for creativity though lol! With that in mind, the only reason why the Gov/Feds made cannabis legal (depending on the state) is so they can get their fingers into the cookie jar as well but ....but...growing hemp was nearly impossible. Only in recent years restrictions have become less stringent or at least i think so. Why that is...beats me other than the two being very similar in appearance. But I digress!

I was thinking the same thing. It's kind of funny they are trying to ban abortions during a formula shortage.

I personally don't think they are connected though. Republicans want more babies to be poor with less intelligence to fill things like factory and warehouse positions. I think the formula shortage is because a couple of babies got sick, and the fda shut down the main manufacturer here in America. That is what I've heard while listening to people talk about it. I don't know this as fact though. Maybe the democrats are the reason for the shortage, to counter the anti abortion thing.

Personally I dislike both Republicans and Democrats, so maybe I'm just bias and over thinking.

Yep! I was forced by my doctors office to feed my baby with formula and I said no! They were like ‘what if she is sick and we don’t know what she ate’ and I said ‘I’ll tell you what she ate’ and they just fucked off.

How am I fortunate because I fed my child natural food? I worked. But at 27 it was really easy to be able to do ALL and then some. 🤷‍♀️

BMI 42% . Phew! You Americans and your love for fatty foods. My statements are sustained. People neglect their own health and well-being but have the audacity to post who they don’t like online. Lol. Priorities. Priorities. You have that kind of BMI, you don’t like yourself. You don’t nourish your body with good. You don’t value health. Pitiful.

The news just told me that half of the formula in the USA is purchased using wic.

The government is feeding half of the children? This is an extreme dependency.

Those moms must be working hard trying to milk government…UNABLE to boil fucking oatmeal.

What a spectacle!

What bugs me is that government don’t give a shit that THEIR kids will live in it as well…though they probably thinking with different brains.

Socialism DIDNT WORK! But they don’t give a damn.
