How honest??

So if you have a friend that sees you are being self destructive or knows you are lying. How honest is too honest? I am fed up with the bs of a long time friend and I am willing to be so honest that I risk losing the friendship.

I don't want to hurt his feelings but sometimes you have to be kind of cruel to be kind. Tough love!! I am at a point that it's worth it to me to speak truth vs feed his ego.

What do you guys think?? The people that have helped me come to terms with some of the stuff I was doing in my past had to be harsh with me, it hurt but I took it in. I respect and love them for it today.

I agree also. I have been at this crossroads though and wonder "How far is too far?" In other words, I try to give tough love in as small a dose as possible in order to get my point across. It is so important that everyone learn the lessons they we're meant to learn and we all have people there to help us to that goal, the key being 'help'.

As a friend, I'd always tell the truth and try to acknowledge their feelings and POV even if I don't agree with them. I also help them see things in a different perspective.

It's not your business to decide what standards he should value .... so the only thing this amounts to is you being a control freak and thinking his life should be lived according to you.

I notice that Scorpios, who are notorious for being controlling, agree with you.

Pisces people ignore control freaks because we are better than you, if you are one ... so, you go ahead and attempt to tell him that he should live up to your standards and see how fast you are erased from him.

I liked the show. Only watched the first season though...
