I hear you. When you're in the thick of things it seems normal or you dismiss it. Looking from the outside in it's just a mess. Trust me, been there, done that. Never again.

Exactly. Plus those types of guy are extremely manipulative. My ex made out that some of my friends were a bad influence on me and brought me down and that I was "better" than that. Wasn't so much a master/slave role more like pupil/teacher.

Still, I was the idiot who believed the asswipe so I'm just as much at fault.
