Question from a new guy

Hi! 🙂

I'm a Taurus boy, been married, had a few great relationships, and while I'm a quintessential Taurus (I like pretty, well-made, and great-tasting things!) with a need for security, I've grown in the last several years. Sure, sometimes it's still hard to get me to go out, but I enjoy new things, new places, and I *love* change: I quit my well paying job just to have fun for a year, and loved it. And I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I'm also not a very jealous guy anymore -- in fact, I prefer that my partner have their own life outside of me sometimes, so I can do the same.

I just met an Aquarius girl. Neat chick, adores good music, seems to love good food. Also, she seems to *love* to snuggle, has been very touchy-feelie, and seems to enjoy intimacy. 'Course, as a Taurus, that's my thing. It's still early, though, only a couple of dates.

I know all about stereotypical Aquarius coldness, need for freedom, lack of close intimacy, etc.

My question, as I'm new to horoscopes: how much variation is there in match potential? Everything I've read so far says that we're doomed to failure. I'm really digging this gal, though, and think it'd be great if it worked! Of course, I know only time will tell, as it's early yet... but should I not even get my hopes up?

txtfool, astrology is only a guide and it is always best to go with your gut when getting to know someone. But to answer your question, there are many factors when comparing your Natal chart to someone elses. The key ones (other than your Sun sign) are your Moon, Venus, Mars, Mercury and Rising or Ascendent sign compatibility. So, yes, your Aquarian may have the core characteristics of an Aquarian, but her other placements may soften her need for freedom and independance.

I say give it a try and see where it goes. I have a very good Aquarius/Capricorn Cusp friend married to a Taurus girl and they have been happily together for over 10 years.

Be aware though, this combination won't be smooth riding, but whose to say that is a bad thing ... it all depends on what you are looking for.

Part of what I'm looking for is NOT smooth riding. Unlike a typical Tauran, I like change, and I like to be challenged. My natural tendency is to stay put, dig in and find a comfortable zone. I don't naturally get out there, make friends and socialize.

That said, when I *do* get out there, I'm a veritable social butterfly. I've been with another Taurus in the recent past and, while it was a sensory heaven for me, the complacency was killing me. I like excitement and adventure. I like change. I like to be challenged to get outside my comfort zone.

Im the same way txt, kinda...Im iffy about the thought, but I love the event and retrospect of being challenged and changing. I have a scorp rising and a cap moon tho. You might have some virgo or aquarius in your chart.

Looks like I'm a Taurus with Sagittarius ascendant. If I'm reading this right, I have a Cancer moon. MercInAries, for other the planets you mentioned, Mars is in Pisces and Mercury is in Taurus.

I don't know anything about her info, but I'll try to find out. 🙂 Is there anything that can be gleaned from mine, though?

Had another great date with her. She's definitely not the "typical" Aquarius I've read about. Once I started reading more about my rising sign, well, that really fit with my personality. The deeper into this I dig and the more I learn, the more right-on it seems. This is interesting stuff. 🙂

Glad you're finding things to be true TF. I think if more people really explored their charts they would find its not all tom foolery.

Go with your gut and live for today, txtfool..! *if it's good it's good and could get even better. Don't over-analyize, have fun, let your feelings speak for themselves and enjoy each other. Nobody is pure sign, anyway. Sun sign compatibility (alone) is extremely limiting and deceptive. As they say no two aquas are quite the same anyway, and that's how they like it too..lol And a near perfect compatible chart with nothing but trines or sextiles can also be very predictible and boring. It's actually beneficial and exciting to have some spark or edge, and can keep things interesting. Trust in your heart and instincts first, before astrology. *Good luck to you..

Taurus Riser ..

Hi Txtfool, my dad is Taurus and my mom an Aqua and they have been married for 48 years,which just goes to prove it can work !!!. I am Cancer and my boyfiend is Aqua and we are meant to be one of the worst matches in the zodiac if not THE worst. Sometimes its not easy but we always seem to pull through in the end.Aquarians are not the easiest to be in a relationsip with, i should know this is my third relationship with one. They are at worst selfish and self righteous( think that applies more so to the men though) and at best the zaniest, funniest,kindest and most loyal people you will ever meet. You say you like change and a challenge, i reckon you have just met your perfect woman, you will certainly get plenty of that!!!. Keep us posted.
