Were my actions appropriate?

Aquarius or not, if a guy wants to take you out, he's going to reach out well before 10:30pm. Where did he expect you take you at that point? If I were you I would've reach out the next day and said, "Sorry I missed your call. I never heard from you and made other plans," just to drive the point that his disappearing act won't get him anywhere.

That being said, it's common for an Aquarius to break plans if they aren't really into you. They rebel against their own logic at times. To answer your question though. Who knows why it took him so long to reach out to you that day? You assumed you were blown off and haven't tried talking to him since then. It's not like he didn't call you though. So if you really want to know "Why?" then you should just ask him.

I made it clear to him that I was taking things slowly... having dealt w an aqaurius before & moving to fast w him, i felt this was best.

So, you didn't initiate at all. Unless he hit you up, you just sat back on your throne, expecting him to pursue you to prove to you that he cared.

And then you said the above?

So, you put him in a box, telling him that because of some other person who isn't him ... you have decided to measure and judge how he is going to relate to you.

The only effort you put into him is by trying to control him and make demands on how he is going to perform in the relationship based on another person?

and you're surprised being put on check?
