Posted by xXxQueenliciaXxXIt's about entertaining the flirting.
I'm not sure I fully understand the question.
Is this about still being in contact with exes or flirting while in a relationship?

Posted by SweetLily_89Good view on it
Some people are just playful like that regardless of being in a relationship. To some it may be just playful/witty banter, nothing more to it.
I'm sure there are plenty that get an ego stroke off of it. Let's face it, it's nice to feel desirable and some people just like getting the attention from the opposite sex. Makes them feel like they've still got "it". Speaks More to their insecurities, than anything.
The way I figure, so long as it's "harmless" and their partner is unbothered by it, then who am I to judge.

Who knows? Only they can answer. If you have to speculate, you have your own issues to confront.

Unless I like you, I don't really care to truly flirt and entertain you to the point where I'm leading you on. I could start the chase but I don't get anything out of it if I don't finish it, for an ego boost? That's all insecurities.
It's different to be friendly and joke around though.

Posted by SsupermanI don't mind people being on friendly terms (friendly flirting is part of human interaction.) Just because someone is an ex, doesn't make them the devil. (S)he is still a human being and it IS possible to have an amicable break up.
So, there was the topic the other day about talking to exes. This got me thinking, why would someone not shut that down if they're in a serious relationship?
Is it for the ego boost or just not wanting to hurt them?

Posted by P-AngelNot encouraging the behavior.
Most people answered referencing being friends with the ex, and just being friendly with them ...... whereas I interpreted this thread to be about encouraging inappropriate attention from the ex, and giving this inappropriate attention.
A person should put themselves in check, for the sake of having respect for their new partner.
