When you see a young attractive looking woman with an older man, you think he has money, or potentially he could have a good sense of humour?

But when you see an young attractive looking man with an older woman, you think she has money ..and there can't be another reason?

I wouldn't necessarily think that a younger guy was with an older woman because of her money. I'd actually think he preferred a woman who was more emotionally mature (and possibly with a revved up sex drive).

For guys, it's never about the money, the younger guy with older woman is about the no-drama, less hoop-jumping sex. Not saying the feelings wont be there, but that is the initial pull.

Never? I doubt that

My bad, mostly, but the guy who is with an older woman only for the money, that is not for relationship purposes, that is definitely a swindler.

Plausible scenarios for men aren't many:

1) you're toyboy material;

2) you actually like no drama;

3) you made a terrible mistake.

4. love

lol my SO is five years older than me.

Not but that's ok - 5 years won't make much of a difference. I was referring more to scenarios in which he's 35 and good-looking and goes for someone who's 50+. Those are the cases in which I remain puzzled and think "what the hell is he doing?".

Anyway I approve of moderate age disparity if it's just an affair - those can be hot. In the long run though, if finding someone with whom to spend the of your life is the goal, I believe it's always best to reduce that gap.

I think the question is more about when you see a woman who may look a little bit like a gold digger …because they are with an older guy …maybe she could be with the guy for his sense of humour.

With a guy, obviously gold digger guys exist too, and when you see a younger guy with an older women, you never think she could have a good sense of humour?

I don’t think 5 years older is big enough of a difference.

I suppose it kinda comes down to how much the older person looks like he/she has money. If you do go out with an older woman who looks like she has money and if she looks like she's paying for everything, lol then yeah I would think you're a toy boy.

I've had rships with age gaps of a decade or more. I think you would have to be delusional to commit to someone with such a large gap... People say age is just a number. It isn't, it can cause issues and differences which prove to be unresolvable in some cases

Sometimes when a guy goes for an older woman, it has to do with the fact that he may have kids with her and decided to settle down. However, from what I've been told, most of these guys are not too happy as they complain that the woman tends to look down on them after a year or two and wants to control the relationship especially because she is older.

While their intimacy may not really be a problem, the moments are brief and their manhood is called into question as husband, provider and head of the household and things tend to get tense as the lady becomes somewhat bossy.

Ok...what if the woman is 35 and the man is 28?
