Not sure if I should post here or on the politics forum

Have you ever had sex with someone who didn't share the same views as yourself regarding the pro life/pro choice?

I imagine this topic doesn't come to surface if its just a one night stand and what have you.
Yes. Me and my guy are both Christians, but he is pro life and I'm pro choice. We have had unprotected sex and now he's thinking about it, because he knows my views on being pro choice and he doesn't want us to have to be at odds with that kind of decision. I think it's awesome that he's putting more thought into our lives together as the relationship continues. We actually had a scare in Oct...I didn't talk about it here...well, because it wasn't anyone's business. lol False alarm, but he knows that I would have considered abortion while he definitely doesn't want any of his children aborted...none. Thankfully we didn't have to get into that convo, but now we're both rethinking things and I'm rethinking going back on BC...at almost 42 years of age. smh....crazy crazy business. Never thought I'd have to think about that at this age. Such is life. I DEFINITELY do not want anymore children. Especially with the recent health issues and now he's seeing that my health is slightly fragile (after the appendicitis surgery) and now he's like...no babies. I'm glad that we're finally in solid agreement on that.

I don't recall a thread topic like this before .... we see it a lot with politics and religion.

Most women seem to have the ridiculous belief that she is in complete charge/control of babies. Whatever the guy wants or believes has no bearing and will do as she pleases.

So, this question isn't the same for each gender, in how it is perceived.

A woman, typically wouldn't give a rats ass about what he thinks on this topic, and she will proceed even in spite of him and even do it on purpose if he tries to impose his wants on her.

Personally, I've always considered my partners, in all aspects.

Don't have sex if you don't want to get her pregnant.
if people actually followed that, the human race would not exist right now.
Poor argument.

There would be less adoptions, less child abuse, less abortions. Children would happy happier homes because they would actually be wanted instead of an inconvenience.

There would be, but there'd be less kids all around. And among those kids, only a fraction of them would have kids if sex was restricted to couples who are both ready on all levels to have kids. And so on so forth. The small percentage of people like that will have a compounding effect on decreasing the population until it reaches zero.

At least theoretically. And I'm going by the premise that only a small percentage of couples are ready for kids on all levels (financially, psychologically, physically, emotionally).

Factor in that especially nowadays, meeting all of those criteria might only happen when they're at a less fertile age, and it makes sense why people are naturally driven to sex for its own sake. It keeps humans reproducing at high levels despite themselves.

And if everyone aborted their unwanted pregancies, same thing would happen.

At 42, you could have your tubes tied.

I'm definitely considering it. I didn't do it until now, because I've felt like I might want to start another family. I just made the solid decision that I absolutely DON'T want to do that in like...Sept. It just hit me all of the sudden...why in the world would I do that. Kids are wonderful. I love kids, but I find that I'm less and less enchanted by cute little chubby faces, hands, and such. lol A few of my friends have become grands and I didn't even hold one of the babies when given the opportunity....yea...I'm done. lol

Once I hit 40, automically getting tubes tied. I can't even fathom the thought of being 45 chasing a 4-5 yr old.

No way.

Lol...that's the part that sounds like fun. It's dealing with other people...teachers, doctors, family members, birthday parties that you're obligated to attend. Photos that you take and buy, etc...all of that stuff that is important on different levels (education, health, socializing, etc...). Now, if me and my kid could move somewhere to eat together, cuddle, chase each other until we're tired as hell, howl at the moon, giggle, sleep and do it all over again the next day...and the next...hell yea...sign me up. Lol

I am not one for unprotected sex. Actually the consequences of an unplanned pregnancy is an extreme turn off.

This is a fascinating topic though. Because even gloving up there's still the possibility of slippage or tearing of the condom, slight but still possible. Better to know where everyone stands when the unthinkable happens.

I haven't had this conversation yet with my man it being still early days and all. Now, how to slip this into casual converstion without indicating I've been obsessively thinking about it? Hmm.

+1

Woman, you should NOT be having fricken pregnancy scares at 42 like some irresponsible teen girl. Lawdy.

I have no issues with condoms. If the guy prefers not too, I still make him put one on. Having a child is no joke and it's a huge responsibility. I take parenting very seriously because I know myself, if it happens I will not abort.

Which is greater?

Child expenses > condom expenses

Pfft, I don't fuck around. I'm already on birth control but we still use condoms because I'm not about to have Murphy's Law strike and be in that small percentage. I've always been on low risk of error types of birth control, but still. Not even messing with it haha. Condoms mofo.

I'm not preaching abstinence. I just said before that if someone didn't want to get pregnant then don't have sex.

Depending on who you are addressing, abstinence is a very plausible argument.

...which is abstinence.

Try being a bit more realistic and promote condoms/birth control instead. Makes more sense and applies better to real world situations.

the original intent was sarcasm. BC can fail.
