He sounds like a pretty mature guy .. there's issues that he won't overlook, and if they can't be resolved by the participation of both parties .. then he walks.
Perhaps, that's what he can't face .. people fight/bicker in a relationship. At the time, you broke up .. now you can't understand why he won't face it.

I did told him that I could compromise and give in to him but it still can't satisfy him. I tried to give him reasons to stay, but they just don't seems to work. So can i know what are the 'good reasons' you mentioned?
