How do I feel?I want you => lust
I love you => love
I agree.
I like to hear both but not on repeat
I love you is sweet I get a warm feeling.
I want you turns me on and I feel a temporary passion.
I need you is tender.
All of them are absolutely meaningless if the person who said them is someone who you don't like/care about.

Never really been moved by 'I want you' for the exact reason you mentioned.I love you and I need you are the keys.
Are you kidding?
Hmmmmm
Ok to cover all grounds I say
I miss you, I love you, I want you...is there anything else I forgot?
Always gets a good laugh and good mood!

Lust and love shouldn't be mutually exclusive. I love you so I want you...where is discrepancy here?
And love CAN follow lust!
Absolutely!
Because what starts as lust can reborn into something that last and grows and developing into love. And then whatever you say doesn't matter.
In the past I said I want you as did the guy I was with at the time... As time went on for some reason, it felt very demanding, and I felt that way as well. It didn't sit well with me after a while.
But with my current neither of us have said it. I just don't feel that way anymore.
I adore you, I miss you, and I love you.. That's all we use. And I have to say, I like it much better that way now.
I don't judge anyone for how they express themselves.. But it just feels better to me that my current boyfriend does not say this to me, he makes me FEEL wanted daily though.. But without those words. Which is different from in the past, when it was said, but not really felt.

But when you just hear I want you and not I love, you don't feel that special connection. At least I don't. A stranger walking down the street could "want" me but he doesn't love me. Men get 11 erections a day. I want to be special and cherished by my love. Not just a sex toy.
Anyway. I have no complaints with BF. I was thinking of two other guys I used to love and they always said I want you, not I love you. So I never knew where I stood or intense their feelings were. One was a Gem and the other a Virgo. Maybe it's a mutable thing?

I...can't deal.
"I love you" is fine, but "I need you" will make me want to do this

I think it's sweet and shows maturity on Tiz's part not to be afraid of being vulnerable. In the best relationships vulnerability is something both parties should feel comfortable with.
I felt nervous.

It can be flattering to hear a love say "I want you", but when the relationship has moved past a certain point, I'm waiting for "I love yous". In fact, hearing I want you instead of I love you makes me go go cold with disappointment and the fear I'm just being seen as an object for someone else's personal gratification. I know with men, wanting a woman and loving her are two entirely different things.
How do you feel about this?
