I have always been like this.
Not only with people I've never truly connected with, but also those whom I've loved more than life itself.
I would say that not being able to look in someone's eyes can symbolize a subconscious shyness, or disconnect of some level, or even inferiority.

For beginners, get someone's frontal face picture. Before going to bed, concentrate on the person's eyes for at least half hour.
Do this 3x a week. It's better if you cover the bottom half so you can really concentrate on the person's eyes.
Hmm...
Eye contact is so disarming. I get butterflies when I look into a love interest eyes.
I dont look everyone in the eye. Too creepy. Men sometimes think im coming onto them.
I'm big on eye contact, I don't think it's necessary all of the time, but I think it makes a difference. I think it shows you're interested, you're paying attention, if someone's talking and you're giving them eye contact I think it shows you're present.
I've had to teach myself to not stare into everyone's eyes. Some people don't like it and you come off as a creeper. I learned not to do this so much as a child. If I like the person I'm talking to, or if what they are saying is really interesting, I can't help it. Also, if I really hate somebody, or if I'm about to get into a fight, I'm told I stare into the other guys eyes and I don't blink much.
Yes. Often. Even when it isn't appropriate.
I like staring at my lover from across the room. Even if someone is talking to me my eyes are set on him. Watching him circle the room, laugh, tell a joke, stroke his chin just so when he's heard something that stimulates him.
...Not in a jealous way. More than not I am thinking about something we did or will do very shortly.
I look everyone that I talk to in the eyes. This is something I was taught to do as a child and it has stuck with me. I never considered it might make someone feel uncomfortable. I do notice guys sometimes getting the wrong idea very easily.
Me and my bf just recently timed 6 minutes to look into each other's eyes. It was interesting, I think a person's eyes say a lot about them and how they're feeling.

When was the last time you just sat and looked into someones eyes? My ex, that I was with for many, many years would never really look at me.. I would ask him to look me in the eyes when we would talk and he would get very defensive. I remember trying to explain how looking into the eyes creates intimacy and connection and he would just never do it.
Are you someone that does that or likes it? Or do you try to avoid really looking into someones eyes? If so, why do you feel you struggle to do that?
