I've been dating someone for a little over 3 months. My birthday is coming up at the end of this month.

Is 3 months a timeframe for which I should "expect" a bday gift from him?

If I don't get a bday gift from him, is that a bad thing?

We have gotten pretty close in quite a few aspects and we have even made plans for future dates (my class reunion, memorial day weekend, possibly Europe in september, etc.), but he hasn't asked me about the weekend before my birthday.

HP74 .. any time during any relationship, even just friendship, the giving and recieving of gifts is appropriate if it's from the heart. One day is enough time, if it's sincere.

However .. "expecting" is another matter. A heart can't be expected to do anything except feel .. and if it isn't from the heart, then it doesn't mean anything.

If a person expects a gift, but doesn't get one .. they are left with disappointment, resentment that they were forgotten, they may even end a relationship that could have brought them joy .. whereas ..

If a person didn't "expect" a gift, yet, got one .. they would be overjoyed because they would know that the other person gave this to them to make them feel cherished and happy.

Love is about "giving", not "getting"
