I've been to a few weddings over the years. And was just thinking about wedding guest ratios.

In terms of even-ness

25% of the guests would be family of the bride
25% of the guests would be family of the groom
25% of the guests would be friends of the bride
25% of the guests would be friends of the groom

But have you people ever come across situations where the percentages different.

I don't about percentages but what ticks me off is how some wedding invitations have a contribution amount. I received one lately and it had $ 150 per person.

How do you all feel with that?

What the hell kind of thread is this?

You're seriously crowding your mind with such bullshit?

The wedding to a person is superficial, it has zero importance .... a sound and lasting marriage has nothing to do with weddings.

why don't you put your thoughts to that, instead.

Really weird wedding rule my family went to yesterday where it was 50 of everything, including a 50 guest limit.

I was at a wedding recently and the groom had cousins attending but very few uncles and aunts attending. I was a little saddened, that the whole family wasn't there.

@ leomoondoucherat,

What if I told you the groom's uncles and aunts went out of their way to not attend. Makes me sad thinking about it

What was the $ 150 per person for? Did they give it a name? Service charge/attendance fee?

Contribution is what they call it. $ 150 per person. This includes your meal, open bar and a gift.

I went to Scorp/Virg wedding where the understanding was money not gifts... okay, cool.
They had a wishing well set up which was good, so people didn't feel like they had to justify their amounts- nice and anonymous.
The tacky part was the brides mother pulling apart the wishing well right after the ceremony and sitting in the middle of everybody, counting the cash!
