I went through this about a month ago.. I say just let it go. If it's meant to be it'll be is what I live by and it's usually true for friendships/relationships. Think about the qualities you have and the positives about you. I feel relieved that everything is over.. no more stressing/worrying about one thing or another. I know after I put my all into it, and did all in my power to make it work and the other party isn't cooperating/interested I just let life go on like they weren't even there.

Well so many people get love & infatuation mixed up. Sometimes you know you really loved a person due to the main fact that you were able to let them go. It's natural to miss the person you're having problems with and/or no longer with. After all, we often forget that we ALSO miss other things (besides people) that we make a part of our daily/weekly routines. It's natural to miss anything and/or anybody (from a job all the way down to a piece of clothing) that we've invested lots of time & energy & sometimes even money into. Missing something we've once had, whether we really actually wanted or needed that thing/person, is natural. The problem is in figuring out, once it's over, if it was really love. Leaves us thinking if it was really worth it? When someone walks away from you, they did you a favor. Just like with anything else in life, when it comes down to the things we want, people will do WHATEVER they have to do in order to get & keep that thing/person. So, when that person after all ends up walking away, it's b/c they didn't feel the person worth it enough to fight for. And hey, sometimes that's a good thing, considering most people establish relationships/friendships for all the WRONG reasons anyways. There comes a point when it's okay to love someone else, BUT it's even more important to love YOU more. You have to ask yourself if your love for this person is interfering with your ability to fully love yourself? When most people really think about it, especially considering how much of themselves they unwillingly & willingly sacrificed so much for the other person, the common answer is usually YES. Don't be sad that it's over. Be happy that it happend

Well honey, understand that it's normal to grief the death of any friendship or relationship. It's normal to be sad or to miss the very person that at one point in time was a big part of your daily routine. That's all normal. BUT, make sure that you're not purposely forcing yourself to move on by only focusing on the negatives or his faults, b/c that's not healthy. It is VERY hard to swallow the pill that one's relationship didn't last after all, BUT understand that eventually you'll find some inner peace. It's always hard to see a way out when you're right in the middle of the storm but look at it like this: Think back to all the other times in your life when you thought the world was over..and then look at where you are now! When you look back on past trials/heartbreaks, the world really wasn't over, was it? Sometimes it's necessary to remember WHY you're not with that person b/c sometimes remembering those things can keep you grounded & more unlikely to run back to that person on impulse. BUT then again it's unhealthy to just sit & swim in misery b/c of all the bad things b/c doing that naturally makes us want to run back to our "comfort zone" as our escape, even if our comfort zone is no longer so comfortable.

I like all the responses! I use this one a lot "Whatever does not kill me can only make me stronger" and I start to focus on my great attributes and that the ending of the relationship just means there may be someone out there that will be a better fit for me.

Looking in the mirror I say, "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough and doggone it, people like me!!" (done originally by Stuart Smiley if any of you remember his routine...lol)
