Becoming close friends with this Sagittarius dude, and he's the funniest person I've met.

So I'm becoming close friends with this Sagittarius, and I find myself laughing so much around the guy. He is a fitness trainer who reads a ton of philosophy, and I'm a self-employed artist with an interest in everything, so naturally we have a lot of talks. We're both independent and searching for more purpose in life (not trying to make things more meaningful than they are, but realizing things already are very meaningful and we want to know more about them.) But when it comes to our sense of humor, it's just crude and absurd observational humor that trails off into long tangents that become ridiculous. It ends in tears of laughter. I love it.

Are all Sagittarians so funny?

My observations on relating my Sagittarius to friends of other signs:

Compared with the Gemini. The funny thing is, this guy is my other good friend's brother, who is a Gemini - opposite the chart! As an Aries, I interact very well with both of them, and it's amazing how similar they are on the surface and yet how fundamentally different they are.. Gemini humor makes me laugh a ton too, but it's much more clever. With the Sagittarius, the more plainly ridiculously stupid and absurd something is, the funnier it is. With all my Gemini friends, it has to have wit involved. The Sagittarius laughs from the heart, the Gemini friends all laugh from the mind (poor way of putting this, but it makes enough sense.)

Funnily enough, this Sagittarius is probably the more intelligent of the two brothers, although they're both very intelligent. Even though the Gemini brother utilizes a lot of wit, his reasoning can be very faulty. Things stay on the surface. Sagittarius is more philosophically poised, where as the Gemini is bent toward politics. The Sagittarius analyzes things to the depth.

Compared to the Leo. I've been best friends with a Leo for a long time (2001), and I'm assuming things will remain that way because we can't seem to piss each other off sooner than we begin to laugh at ourselves. I've noticed most of the Leo humor revolves around themselves, or an aspect of their life being a part of their joke, or something or someone in their life that is at the very least relevant. The Sagittarius friend rarely brings up aspects of his own life or himself into his humor, and when we laugh at something we see, it's not because of anything we actually know about it, or because it's personal, but something about it just looked stupid or absurd. It had no weight.

Just thoughts.

i love sag's for this reason, their sense of humour is so silly and you don't have to worry about making clever or witty jokes with them, making a fart noise will suffice.

it's a very child-like humour, the type of humour that sets off giggle fits, snorting and nearly peeing yourself.

also, they laugh at their own jokes (not in an annoying kinda way), and sag's laughs are almost always contagious, then they laugh at you laughing and by the end of it you've no idea why you're both laughing.

i love them!
