If you lend a friend alot of money...

because they really need it and promise to give it back to you on a date which is convenient and decided by them (which is cool) AND then they don't. What do you do (?)

The reason I ask this is because I lent money to a friend when he desperately needed it and was at wits end. He said he'd give it back to me in Jan. We spoke literally everyday and things were cool. The date of him returning the money came and went. I didn't say anything until Feb. I was really embarrassed to ask to be honest but I needed it. He didn't reply back to my message. At a later date he said his brother would drop it to me, but didn't. (He done this a few times)

He shamelessly spoke to me via text like everything was cool, completely ignoring the fact that he still owed me. I was so embarrassed for him. I thought maybe cause he smokes so much weed that his memory must be somewhat lacking? but who the fuck 'actually' forgets? I really felt sorry for him that's why I lent him it, cause he had no other option but then he does this? Talk about a kick in the teeth! *shakes head*

As it happens, I have not bothered to contact him and he hasn't done so either. I don't even want the money back now, don't get me wrong, I'm not ballin' or nothing but if it only takes a bit of money to get to know someones true colours then it's worth every penny.

I don't get it. If he didn't have it or still hasn't managed to get the money by now and told me, I would totally understand. The thing is after the time came and went he wasn't even trying to duck me, HA! What a shameless individual!

I'm just disappointed that someone who use somebody like that. Like WTF has he gained apart from the money he's spent? Some people make me sick!

If he does contact me just to say hi then I'll respond and be civil but it won't be the same again.

naw girl, i dont loan money because i never get it back. if someone needs it, i just give it to them. judge judy says that the faster way to lose a friend is to loan money.

after 2 years, the sag i smash asked me to pay his cell phone bill. reluctantly i did it. i knew in the back of my mind he wouldnt pay me back. but lo and behold he did. the very next time i saw him.

Usually I just give my friend's money, like i.e; If I really wanna go out and want them to come play, but they can't cause they don't have the money but won't borrow it cause they won't be able to pay me back ....like that's a different story.

OK It may be the fastest way to lose friends but then you gotta ask yourself is it even worth having a friend like that? It's almost like a test which he has miserably failed unfortunately. I only done it to help him, maybe that's why nobody else would loan it to him cause they know what he's like.

Oh well, jokes on me. I can't lie, it has made me feel like a fool and makes me a little sad and disgusted all at once. Obviously this feeling will pass but it's just not nice. *sighs*

P.S and Judge Judy sure knows what she's talking bout

Actually squash that! I can't do that! I can't just plainly so 'No' when someone asks to borrow anything of mine, and I don't like giving away my stuff. I guess I can do this with money if I'm in a good place otherwise I'll just say 'Sorry, I'm skint'. End of.

HELL TO THE NO....i loaned my then scorpio friend a $ 100 (and to this day i mess with her with a long handle spoon)but anyway i loaned her the money to pay her light bill that was so called about to be turned off..gave her the money...now two wks done passed she still have'nt mention my money...I'm not going to sweat you but my thing is when you know you owe a person pay them they money i should'nt have to come asking... when you came to me...So i edventually i brings it to her attention...she say girl i thought you gave that to me....OH.. did my fire flame when she said that...i told her first of all...I work damn hard for my money i bust my ass everyday.. i dont do charity...SORRY...especially for a person thats not trying to help themselves...but what really did it.. she was spending money like she didnt owe me...i had to snap out on her ass to get my money and still didnt get the whole 100 back...but her thing is I dont have kids...so she assumed i had it to give....NO.... I LIKE TO SHOP!!!

unbelievable. people with kids have it really twisted if they think that single people who dont have kids dont need the extra money. the nerve of her.
