3-4 years and It's still a topic I avoid. Someone once told me, you take the length of the relationship and divide it by 2, and that is how long it will take you to get over that person. When she first told me this I was fresh out of a relationship and thought she was exaggerating the length because I felt fine after the breakup....time has shown me and hats off to her 😉

I think I am making another leap because he is not an ex...yet...

Something else. My friend is in love for that man for 30 years but they had been in college and after that saw each other for like 6 times in 20 years!
And she is now more determined than ever! So what is this??

4 years. Now I'm completely over him. Sometimes I'll have a dream about him and it'll bring back memories from the past and then I'm over it a half hour after I wake up.

It takes time. The reason people say that is because there's no rule, reason or rhyme to how little or how much time it takes lol.Though honestly I don't 'get over' people I've loved. A part of the experience stays with me forever, good and bad, and I use those times to help me move forward and be the person I want to be. Anyone I can 'get over' I didn't connect with deeply.
it's not getting over them as a person\experience its getting over the pain of losing them or being cheated on by them etc...
A few months
Depends on how deep they have their hooks in you.
