There are reasons why it will work, and reasons it won't. Both truly want someone who can feel them on an emotional level, and both can relate to each otherin most ways. The real issues would be the fact Scorpios tend to be cold or hard/ withdrawn at times, both are sensitive, Cancers are moody, and both Cancer and Scorpio get tired of hearing about people's problems when they are hardly able to eliminate their own problems.

In a mature relationship where they aren't constantly stuck in their emotions or personal problems it would work perfectly though.

I have Scorpios all around me in my personal life; and two of them said the same thing. The cancer-Scorpio combo was over-rated. The Cancer was condescending towards the Scorpio; the cancer suggested everyone was jealous of her, including her Scorpio. The Cancer was in fact jealous of the Scorpio and made constant snide remarks to my sweet Scorpio friend.
