Atlantic Myst>> What does the rest of his chart say?

Ha ha.....very funny, how did you know I was talking about a guy? hmmm....possibly a little deep you are. He's 4 panets in scorp, marz in leo, 3 planets virgo....etc. But really, I am trying to figure out why you all think your so deep? I have been surrounded by scorps lately (not my usual) and at first, you seemed deep, but i think now that that's just because of all the mysterious nature, don't open up right away in order to protect yourself and so forth...but now it seems as if i can read easily what's behind the mystery. Sensitive, yes, i'll give you that. But what makes you so deep? I really want to know what all you scorps think about that?

Why do you say this?

What have you expected to see in your observations of Scorpios?

What I've found with Leos... or any fire signs is that they're surprised to find that Leo depth and Scorpio depth are completely unrelated. They're not the same.

Scorpio depth is akin to 'involvement', not to a thing of far-seeing insight, or high wisdom, or inspirational, generalizable reasoning, but it's a very close scrutiny that seems to go 'inside' rather than up, down, or all the way around. It's also far more emotional than the idea of 'depth' is commonly given credit for.

Have you ever been so angry at something or so disappointed with something (or in pain, or whatever) that you wish would correct itself that you wrote about it (any kind of expression works, but writing is commonly accessible) - pages and pages of an unresolved issue - and then left it alone for a while only to come back to it sometime later and not understand where it all came from or even how to honestly duplicate it? It's at those times when you can probably understand the Scorpio depth: involvement. The only difference is that Scorpios don't lose the 'involvement' as quickly as others. It is pretty safe to say that a loss of involvement is akin to a loss of close understanding. Another example - have you ever felt something strongly, loved it, and then lost the feeling, yet still tried to duplicate it or tried to feel it (in vain) even after losing it? When you lose it, you know what you had, and the lesson is that just because you couldn't observe it doesn't mean it wasn't there or it didn't matter. Involvement, intimacy, closeness, and the strength of it all, those are the things that make a Scorpio deep, and it's a depth that doesn't simply show itself. It's either understood by those having or being had by the involvement or not seen at all (much less understood). Involvement won't show itself like wisdom will, it just won't, which is why it's hard to 'observe' a Scorpio and point out his or her depth.

I find it funny to see Fire signs and Water signs attempt to understand one another, though. I've grown to understand just how much fire signs represent fundamental aspects of masculinity, and water signs, femininity. It's no coincidental relationship, the one between sign and gender-type. I tend to believe that positive signs and negative signs can never really hope to see eye to eye as well as they would like to. Look at the fire signs, Aries is the warrior, Leo is the King,

Sagittarius is the philosopher, or the general (literally, very general). Fire signs have rational, uninvolved thought-processes. This definitely isn't to say that fire signs can't get involved, because they do, but it certainly does mean that they don't understand involvement quite as well as water signs do.

On another note:
It's important to remember that while Libra - the 7th sign - represents the coming together of partners, and Scorpio - the 8th sign - represents the bonding of them, where the partners go 'inside' one another and become a single, shared entity. I repeat, *shared* entity: It's only understood by those sharing or those being shared.

It's the typical Scorpio determination, extreme-care, and attention (which in Scorpio's case can be taken for 'alarm') that make them so relentlessly involved and deep without precaution. If a Scorpio isn't deep, then they have no real defining characteristics that make any sense whatsoever. You cannot throw out this Scorpio-description - deep - sensibly without throwing out the entire understanding of the sign, which is mainly why I think people who don't understand the Scorpio depth don't understand the sign at all.

Wellll, I don't just think it... I kind of know it. : )
