i am NOT a VISA card!

Ok, every month my man is late for rent - pays, but depends on me to pay to send the cheque & pays late. WTF?!! Now i have a friend renting with us & they BOTH can only pay on the 5th! I've tried telling him to get cheque's but he says he's bad at them. He's f'ing 32 years old! Last month i kept only my share of rent in my chequing acc & he said he'd deposit his rent in my account so it wouldn't bounce. It bounced! Lame, embarrassing. Now this month he says ohhhhhh sorry, I can only pay the 5th. WHY AM I A VISA CARD?!!! What can I do, this is just fucking annoying.

I hate asking for things, $ , I NEVER borrow. If i try to stop it, things bouce.

We could do that, I told him to. He did it once before. But he wants me to do it this time. Why should I? He is the one that is holding things up.
So either I have to call, or I have to pay ALL of the rent & be SUPERbroke for 5 days, on behalf of my favorite roomates.

His other "great" idea was to put the cheque in the mail 3 days late. WOW, smart. Nice way to lose a nice place.

Float him a loan for the nextmonth's rent. Tell him that you will pay for the rent for October, but starting on each of his paycheck's on the 5th, he will pay you the rent along with a payment plan to pay you back for getting him on track with a budget.

If he's behind now, he'll always be behind.

TG, I know this situation only too well. Seems that when you're careful with money people think it's ok to take the p*ss.

I never borrow money off people, ever. My Pisces bf thinks we should always lend each other money, but it's a one way thing, with him lending money off me and if I dare ask for it back he lays a guilt trip on me that I don't trust him! Really, really annoying.

HP, he's come a LONG way from a year ago. He's caught up on debts, it's just keeping up now! Just don't involve me! lol

Copperhead, I think it's quite common. No one is ever really on exactly the same page. Sometimes we gotta carry each other - but respect & politeness is very much required. Don't take it for granted!!!!

Sometimes that's the problem, when you're always there to bail someone out they eventually come to expect it.

It absolutely drives me nuts, I have 2 friends who seem to think I'm a bank. They're very good at borrowing the money, but when the time comes to pay it back something else seems to mysteriously crop up leaving them short.

If you can't change the date to the 5th I think Bullerina's idea of paying by seperate cheques is a good one. That way if there are any charges due for late payment it will fall on those who did not make theirs in time, instead of you always having to pick up the tab.
