Damn, i sure missed a lot of stuff...

Didn't realize this series had so much depth (and so many hidden messages). One could say... Twin Peaks is a spiritual/philosophical lesson - meant for modern times (since it's directly related to modern media - to Television in particular and the way it desensitized/desensitizes its audience in regards to violent content, tho... even the Internet fits the bill). It's a long video - since it tries to cover anything in depth - but it's worth the time. Eye opening... 😲 It all makes sense now - but it's not just about the movie, but also... David Lynch's perspective on the modern media - since that's what he tried to convey through Twin Peaks (as mentioned above - it's more of a philosophical/spiritual lesson)

I sat through this whole thing a few weeks ago. First I figured I'd give it a chance but if it turned too far-fetched I'd just stop watching after like 40 minutes..

However, amazingly the whole thing checks out. The only thing that is far-fetched given the extent, is that this was supposedly David Lynch's idea behind the show to begin with. You'd think he'd at least give clearer hints. Without this guy decrypting it, Twin Peaks would have remained "unsolved" forever bc it's truly way out there..

the actors look way too old, they should have canceled the sequel.

First two seasons aren't that deep and don't need explanation.

Didn't watch the recent netflix-level sequel crap, but if it's like the Xfile sequel, it's for the best

It's a completely different breed than the old show.. which I respect, otherwise it'd have been just repetetive. It's got more of a 'Lost Highway' feel, all disorienting and grotesque. I'd call it overlong but then I wouldn't mind sitting through another 20 episodes of that shit. It's an experience for sure

I watched Twin Peaks when i was very young (around the age of 9 or 10) - to young to make sense of its complexities, yet... even at that age - it still had a lasting visual and emotional impact on me (stood out cause of the way it was put together by Lynch - both for being so different - somehow bizarre if you will... but also packed with emotional content). Even so... maybe because i was so young - i didn't have what it took to become part of its "thirsty audience..." For me that was enough (i took it for it was). That being said... i guess a big chunk of the sequel from 2017 - was not meant for people like you and me (cause that's just it... it was mainly meant for that thirsty audience). Was not meant for the general audience. Still, as mentioned above - the original series had quite an impact on me as well... since the feels from that time resurfaced - while they announced this squeal. Then again, even the intro could trigger those feels...

So i started watching it - but i didn't knew what to expect... There was also a big topic about it here on DXP (both the show and David Lynch), and... i guess everyone was hit by a similar confusion - close to the end (or maybe they quit watching it - for failing their expectations) - cause that topic turned silent... Even tho - the debates used to be quite intense around the middle. What can i say... the last one in particular - got me like... "WTF did i just watch?!" And that's just it... "this show is not what you think". It's also what makes the explanation video - a must watch - for people like us (casuals in the world of Twin Peaks). It's the only way we can make sense of it all (quite an irony too - since this video brings closure to a squeal that was meant as a closure... just "not in the usual terms"). Now that i saw the whole video - i find the sequel quite brilliant (: in more ways than one). 🤓

I’m just mad Dale and Audrey didn’t get together. 😤

Well... Dale is not Dale (he's not a just a movie character - in the general sense... among other things - he also stands for the audience - his role is meant to embody our interest in watching a show, thus... you have Bad Dale which is usually what captures most of the audience's interest - and Good Dale - which is depicted as an empty shell - cause the audience has little to no interest for the plain - and its also meant to depict the lost interest in the original show - as it was originally intended) and Audrey is stuck in the past.

And it's hilarious.

First 2 seasons were done by many others but the third is pure david's work.

Apparently, they couldn't reach a mutual agreement back then. Lynch had his own ideas for the ending of the show - which were discarded by the studio "since they weren't deemed fitting for that past audience (and the usual model for a show - where the end was usually meant to bring closure - usually a happy ending... far from real life - where things just are the way they are)". He had issues both with the studio and Mark Frost. And OFC with the audience. He actually expressed all of that - in the last squeal...
