nowadays, i feel safe/peace when my spouse is simply snoring/breathing next to me in bed. (he doesn’t snore that loudly. it’s a quiet snore) lol
i feel happy that he’s alive. and feel kinda warm inside.
cuz him snoring means he’s safe and alive lol
he’s had health issues in the past (fluid in his lungs when he was in his early twenties) and was hospitalized for it so i’m just happy/relieved that he’s alive and simply breathing next to me.
other than that, i feel peaceful when i’m relaxing in nature. or when i’m reading a book. drinking tea also calms my nerves.
i feel peaceful just knowing that my loved ones are alive and well though (family too even if i don’t get along with some of them at times 😅 lol)

I've probably said this many times, but for me it's far out in nature. Like where I know I'm likely 100% not being watched or noticed by any human. Just by nature. Also I feel even more at peace when I swim and meditate in a clean natural stream, and can feel complete disconnected from human society. I think one of my best meditative experiences was laying in a shallow stream, where I could feel the water flowing past my body, and could hear the flow of the water from my ears being underwater. Yet every now and then I'd open my eyes. I could only see the trees standing tall all round me, the blue sky, and sometimes birds flying above. All that combined with the water was probably one of the best experiences of my life tbh.

i found “alive” lol on the very bottom line lol
not sure if anyone else can relate but i also find city lights and night landscapes really comforting. i sometimes like to go to bars that are on like the 40th-50th floor of a building at night and just watch the city lights and take in the night view.
i like feeling like i’m just a drop in this vast ocean of people lol my problems seem really small when i’m looking down on the city. it’s almost like time stops for a while. it’s a calming feeling.

I am struggling to imagine or remember any places where i feel or felt truly safe... free from harm, immediate or potential.
I feel calm. For a while now, i have. Like i have incidentally occupied a zen state.
A place that always brings you peace.
A spot somewhere no one knows but you.
that kind of place. It doesn't have to be safe
logically I suppose but to your mind, it brings pause.

Safety to me means balance.
When all needs are met, that is safety to me.
Recently I did a type of shadow work on nyself
and I unlocked a sense of safety within.
A sense of power that I didn't know was here..
and its because I've healed (healing)
an old trauma that kept me unbalanced* and not
connecting me to my wholeness.

As I've given this some more thought I realized the feeling that something/someone/someplace is safe is rooted in my ability to adjust to that thing/person/place, or it's ability to hold me when I am feeling unbalanced.
Like I appreciate Nature for what it is because it does not judge, it just is. Familiar places because I know how to operate in those spaces. My shorty's care is comforting when she is locked in and committed...because in theory if she has made it to level of partner I know that she adjusts to me and I adjust to her, we both roll with the punches and it isn't me chasing around after her nor her I.
The above is not a complete thought or a definitive one. My thoughts on this are still developing.

i think this might be why activities like solo camping is becoming popular amongst dudes right now. soooo many youtube channels like this popped up in recent years lol they’re fun to watch. i was wondering why but i definitely think nature offers an escape, a chance to reflect, unwind, shed unnecessary burden, and get back to the basics/get back to their roots for many people. i mean, humans used to live in nature so i guess it makes sense for us to seek nature on a genetic level.
and yeah, feeling adjusted in a place/person is nice. we live in a very unpredictable world and it’s nice to have a few things that are safe and predictable such as a stable partner, a cozy home to relax in, a daily routine that brings you comfort etc.
