How soon did you start cycling postpartum?

I’m 6 weeks postpartum and this morning I think I might be ovulating already...I’ll spare the details but let’s just say I’m having familiar symptoms.

I’m scared shitless of having another one of these demons anytime soon. I go for my checkup next week and will get an IUD so I don’t have to worry about this ....but do you think it’s possible I’m already ovulating ? 😬

I’m like omw to buy plan B already no shit I’m not fucking around

lol @ you calling the babies demons LOL

the answer is yes you can be. I'm less then 13 months younger than my sister, was back to back pregnancies for my mom.

Are you worried you might already be preggers again?

Are you breastfeeding? Definitely not foolproof like firestarter said, but it does help lol. I didn’t get my period for a year both times while breastfeeding. It is very possible that you may already be ovulating though. Everyone’s different

No I was not able ...I pumped for a couple weeks but it just wasn’t worth it to continue I was getting like 20ml after 30 min of pumping.

Got these DD’s for no apparent reason I guess

It's really easy for your body to get pregnant again. I got an IUD as soon as I could start having sex again but I had a c sect and my period has never been regular.

Everyone is different but I had a terrible experience with the mirena. Had it in 6 years and it seemed ok but there was a lot of things I didnt notice then that are just way off. I crashed really hard 6 years later when I got it removed. Crashed as in it took about 2 weeks of laying in bed trying not to imagine killing myself in all the ways. Hormones are crazy. I am so glad to be back to normal after all the years of fake hormones in my system

Yeah I don’t do well on synthetic hormones either...blood pressure gets really high and I get really crazy too.

My friend suggested the copper IUD??

I’m currently on no birth control and were using protection for the next few months until we’re ready to start. I’ve been taking my temp daily and doing everything my gyno has recommended.

I’m also sensitive to hormonal birth controls and I’ve been researching the copper as well. So far I hear a lot of good stories and very few not so great stories. Every woman’s body is so different so it’s hit or miss with anything.

How are you finding your mood and hormones after giving birth? This is something I’m very worried about but the idea of a baby is more rewarding than my fears for now.

The first few weeks were really rough, I’m not gonna lie. I’m just now starting to feel emotionally stable again. I swear all I did was cry those first few days. 😩

I had a relatively easy pregnancy, quick labor and uncomplicated delivery ...and still found the whole process of giving birth and becoming a mom very traumatizing lol

Idk if it was the hormones or just me

Your body goes through a lot and you’re not taking care of yourself because you’re absolutely consumed with taking care of this little creature...then if you get a colicky baby like me, on top of it all, you’re just NOT OK

I told my husband to promise me he’d take care of the baby cause I was ready to drive off the nearest bridge, no shit

Everything you’ve said is very similar to what I’ve been told by women in my family. The first few weeks you’re crying over any thought or event and spending hours looking at your baby and just exploring internally with love.

That’s so lucky you had a smooth birth/delivery! What did you find what so traumatic about it? Was it more like—coming to a complete awareness you made a baby?

My sister said the same thing about not taking care of yourself and being consumed with your baby. Nothing in her house was cleaned for like the first two months lol - besides the babies things. They were so tired and if they only knew that was the easiest time in their babies lives 😆 because it’s at the 7-8 month mark that they actually start adjusting to 4 hours or less sleep a night.

I’m told that the mood swings are legit the first two months after birth. I don’t know how it translates from period cycle mood swings and then the fluctuations after birth — but I legit think it’s related. Lol I’m fully prepared for what’ll happen to me.

I find all of this so interesting. I’m legit petrified of having a baby but so excited at the prospect as well 😊

It’s worth it 😊 you’ll be great

It’s good you have people being real with you about it though. It is really one of the hardest things you’ll ever do
