I think CajunSpirit instead of looking external you should look internally on why you attract this type of behavior. It seems a part of you likes being treated like sh1t. So she just did her duty. Really.

I seriously don't think you can manage a healthy relationship. I think it would BORE you.

I don't attract it. I have historically acted on my physical and mental attraction and as it has been observed in posts on these boards, Virgos seem attracted to solving problems.

I have had healthy relationships and they were not boring. It just seems the prettier the girl, the more the problems she has.

I don't mean to press you on this, but was she always like that? Did you fall in love with her even as she behaved the way she did? Or did she hide it well only to reveal it later?

Revealed over time.

Isn't her being ungrateful the way she was while you stayed with her wanting different from her akin to the very same thing you expressed disliking: being honest and direct but not being taken at face value and twisting things to suit what you want as opposed to accepting the reality of what it actually is?

This only manifested greatly towards the end.
I put my hope and faith in her and was drunk on my attraction.

It seems to me that when it comes to love, it's never black and white. We can all recite backwards and forwards the rules of how things OUGHT to be, what we SHOULD accept, and how we SHOULD react, but when faced with said predicament, we betray ourselves and do differently.

It's more than just television, and media .... it's taught by the single parent, usually mother.

Here's a single mom, who dates but can't seem to find a good man. Over the years men come and go ...

As the men go .... child watches his/her mother fight, hurt, resent

Man is now gone .... child listens as mother makes excuses for everything wrong she did.

New man comes .... child watches as mother makes the same mistakes because she never addressed her faults with all the other failed relationships.

voila .... another fucked up person lives what they learned

The broken family is at the heart of the problems with the world.
