Rant alert - Working with a Virguy

I'm starting to really dislike the Virguy I'm working with.

- No spine, and flip flops based on what he thinks other people want to see/hear. FAKE. Like if I say I like something, he likes it too. If I dislike something, he'll dislike too. If I say I'm busy, he'll suddenly act busy too. Hell, even if I crack my knuckles, he'll do it in front of me too later. The mirroring is getting epic and so annoying.

- He also nitpicks and criticizes, but on small things that don't matter much. I wonder if this is to distract, so other people don't notice HIS many flaws

- Control freak, like if I'm already doing something, he'll narrate beside me what I'm doing. IE. "..yeah put that there", "yeah, make that". What the hell is that??

Has anyone ever worked with a Virguy? How do you deal with them?

Hmm sounds like some partial social anxiety.

Wanting to be perfect, wanting to be liked and validated by everyone, wants to be useful and look like they're doing work when they don't have the confidence to actually make real decisions...sounds like he's just uncomfortable really.

There's not much you can do other than make him feel more comfortable so he'll feel at home and not feel like everyone is watching his ass. He's just up in the clouds with high expectations.

Honestly, give him a job where he has to manage whatever it is on his own, he'll probably do better.

Still a better love story than Twilight.
