I chalk it up to axis envy and Virgo denial of Pisces brilliance is just a coping mechanism. But I'll give Virgos the chance to try and come up with a compelling explanation for their insolent attitudes.

I was suggesting heavily influenced air signs / Virgos with this may struggle because 'Air'
deals with intelligence that is not on the same wavelength as 'Water'. Again, Air influenced
that are not balanced. Only see things intellectually, outwardly, through modern day science etc
Their type of intelligence and way of communicating can sometimes be too ethereal for me.. too wispy and peripheral. It's hard for me to grasp. And I have to be able to grasp things before I can process them; process them before I feel comfortable saying I understand them.
It's not that I don't find them intelligent or respect their way of doing things (Well, sometimes I don't😉 ). It's more that my linear thinking cannot compute their abstract, sometimes [overly] precious, way of being.
At least, that's this virgo's take on it.
Some of the decisions my Pisces friends have made were fucking stupid.
And then the complaining and wondering "why me? How could this have happened to me" charade afterward is fucking annoying.
Anyone can be smart, some are book smart yes. Anyone from any sign can be.
Our definition of intelligence is not the same as yours, I don't really have a problem with it until (as stated previously) comes the "huh? How did this happen?" HEADASS

Geminis and Aquas do have a healthy respect for fishy intelligence.
I'm saying that since air signs don't view pisces as daft, then it probably isn't air sign influence what makes virgos think of pisces as daft.
And pisces do have intellectual, scientific, left brain intelligence. We also have creative right brained intelligence that sometimes overshadow our critical thinking faculties, but that doesn't mean we're lacking in critical thinking. It's a matter of ratio, not raw output.

But that it is uncertain whether or not someone smarter has been born since he died. If nobody has, then he is still the smartest man to ever have lived even if he is now dead. All I'm saying is that most of the Pisces I know of seem to look at life through a rose colored glass. It's beautiful and lovely and there are endless possibilities to see life when looking through that, but to a Virgos realism ( especially bc we are your opposites) we just don't see it as real.

Hmm... Yeah...
Of course many Pisces can be critical thinkers/scientific.
My comment was not to imply that we are not or cannot be.
(Being smart and intelligent are not exclusive to those things of course)
It's just that (as far as signs go)...imo anyone (not just virgos) that is Air
(or even fire) Dominant in their chart (looking beyond the sun placement)
run the risk of being closed minded to our way of being or ... our way of finding
answers because society and just scientist in general are heavily influenced
by the intellectual way of being, this external way of finding answers
and connecting the dots..
Intuition is just another form of intelligence that is just as capable
but just not really understood or fully respected by the masses

Pretty much explains it but there's a third option and I'll explain it with a simple question...define "intelligence?" In truth, intelligence is subjective and not clearly defined. It's really an abstract concept created to categorize an intangible...phenomenon...like brain capacity(or something). I've seen "smart" people do dumb stuff(like create the atom bomb) and "dumb" people do smart stuff(like manage their checkbook). The only thing that truly matters is wisdom...and that simply boils down to whether something should be done or not done. Like the maze example. There may be times when one should go through it. Others where one should go around it. It boils down to the purpose the maze serves.
