Why are Capricorns always shoehorned as only being "providers"?

This might be my Scorp Moon getting emotional over something that doesn't matter at all but I can't help but notice that literally every description of Capricorn revolves around money. Apparently, we're all money hungry robots who only live to use people and climb to the top of the corporate ladder.

That couldn't be further from the truth. I only like money as a means to an end. I could never be a businessman because all the dominant air in my natal has me overthinking. I wish we weren't labeled as providers when every other sign gets to have an identity.

I think Capricorns are just naturally ambitious, and their fear/drive comes from the possibility of not being as great as they would like to be (in whatever field).

So the evolved ones, or the ones balanced out by more free-thinking placements, are usually high achievers who aren't overly materialistic (but generally end up making enough money because of their skill).

The unevolved ones are the ones who fit the "materialistic/provider" stereotype, as they usually just take on the values of the society around them, and thus define success in a more shallow, basic manner.

I do think Caps need to be balanced out a lot by other elements (but you can say that about almost any sign). I guess because I've met a few people with sociopathic tendencies with Cap-heavy charts (they were emotional robots). But some of the most impressive people I know are Caps too -- my mom and one of my good friends are both high-achieving, academic types but they use their standing for good causes, without caring much about material gain.
