Lasts 2.5 to 3 years. Starts around 27 years old. The actual events that set it off may start at 26 and resolve at 31
It starts when saturn enters the sign. And ends when it leaves it. The turning point/climax happens around the natal placement(when it returns to the exact point of birth)
Second one is around 63 65 67 add 30+27 or 27+27
Almost always theres a tough period around that time. The first one is supposedly tougher than the first as in the second youre wiser and on top(Cap/saturn)
Mine is in Capricorn 4th house. Very typical leason about family and earnings for me

My husband got married against his mommy’s wishes during his Saturn return (I’ve read it’s good to marry around or after your Saturn return as you’re supposedly more mature and are sure of what you want). I think it’s still going on for him. Mine is set to happen a few years from now and it’s in my 4th house so hopefully mine is around parenthood and dealing with poopie diapers. I already feel like I’ve accumulated an acceleration of wisdom and serious life lessons the past few years so I’m so ready for mine !

Depends but the total period is roughly 2-3 years. Mine was rough but I’ve come through it and am positive toward the future. 👍🏻
It focused on what I was lacking and I ended up in real pain but that pain has taught me what I need to work on.
Saturn is refinement based on the fruit of your labor or lack thereof. So it’s a bit of karma and then reassessing what’s actually needed.
View it as a transformation period/rite of passage into the next 3rd of your life based on what you’ve learned and grown from in the first third.

For me I was very settled into security but denied myself what I’ve always felt my calling to be. So I had to learn not to rely so much on relationships to where I become codependent and so adaptive that I am living in a role rather than just living. I need to pursue the independence that I’ve feel too scared to go for. So right now I’m going through a lot of upheaval and changed to follow that path.

Hmmm your math is wrong mid - late 50’s.
So this explains a lot. I’m 56. My Saturn is in Aquarius - first house.. looks like it will be Mid to late 2022 when I hit that point. Pluto is also transiting my first house 🤦♀️🤦♀️
My math was totally off lol. Yeah also its enhanced/stronger if you have Capricorn placementsclick to expand

I came across this a few years back, even made a thread about it back then.
https://astrobox.wordpress.com/midlife-astrology/the-saturn-opposition-44-years/
Some stuff that stuck out to me:
"The Saturn Opposition at midlife is a time to re-examine the concerns of the house(s) through which Saturn is transiting, where it resides natally and what house it rules. Saturn is The Teacher and the best way to be successful with this transit is to be a willing pupil. The first Saturn opposite Saturn aspect occurred at about age 14/15, the Saturn Return at approximately age 28/30 and now a second Saturn opposite Saturn aspect is occurring at midlife. As Saturn oppositions begin we re-evaluate and make changes. At age 44/45 it is time to re-evaluate the past 14 years or so since your Saturn Return. What have you accomplished since age 28 that is true and authentic and can be built upon as you advance through your 40s and into your 50s?"
this part might relate more to you..i think you are a few years older than me. im still in my 40's
"Ages 44-59 can be the most productive and creative of your life. Saturn builds structure and is all about reality. The coming 14 year period can be very productive if you have cleared away the rubbish which has accumulated – literally and figuratively. Are there possessions and people who no longer serve you well? Have things come to the end of their usefulness or has a relationship gone as far as it will go? What is blocking you and posing as an obstacle? Ask yourself which situations in your life are limiting you, frustrating you, and blocking your efforts? What is it that you cannot accomplish with things as they are?"
there are also links to jupiter, chiron and uranus.. which wasn't really relevant then but sure is now with all the retros lol

Interesting! I started the midlife thing at 45. It was a question someone asked me. And then I had to ask myself, can you live like you are for the rest of your life? I didn’t know the answer til I was 48, when I left. I’ve accomplished a lot in the last 8 years. It was the right path. For my kids, and for me. I feel as thought right now it’s time to get through some more for the older years, retirement years. Which is still 9 years away, but I’m preparing. And romance wise, I’m to the point I’ve mostly healed, I’ve explored options & I know what I can live with & what I can’t. I have no idea how to get to what I can live with so I’m in a “just be” made. I think that is positive actually.click to expand

I was just about to turn 44 and the crab ex returned to my life after 15 years and was dealing with many what if questions.. and if i could forgive him after what happened and stumbled across that article. It reallllllllly helped me especially the part of what i dealt with during my satrun return and why it/he was back in my life after I had moved on from it all. I meet him right before i turned 30, picked up my life and walked away from everything and everyone... which was ultimatley a good choice for my life, but i should have done it with someone else not him lolclick to expand

Interesting I left first husband at 26 & married husband #2 at 31. I feel as though I didn’t take enough time healing & dealing with divorce #1 before I entered the second relationship. I met him at 27.click to expand

FYI saturn did move into Aquarius March 21 2020 then went retro back into cap. in July
Saturn will be in Aquarius until July 1 when it will retrograde back into Capricorn until it re-enters Aquarius on Dec. 1.

I’m thinking of the second one actually. I think the first one coincided with first to second husband & setting up life with my future family.
