Have you guys dated a Water / earth sign before?

If so how was it like?

Was communication difficult?
Was there a lot of change needed to keep the other person happy?

I'm infatuated with a guy that isnt the greatest looking guy. He is tall, intelligent, protective, caring, and manly. However, the downside is that he seems to be very earthy (not sure which one) hes very predictable, critical, a tad boring...wouldn't try anything spontaneous or suddenly change plans.

Another problem is, well i work in the film industry and im aspiring to be a art coordinator, this guy was one of the production designers i contacted to prospect job placement. we met up and shared conversations about the film industry etc gave me resources and advice. Showed me around town. In addition, He was interested in learning mandarin from me as a 2nd language. So we seem to get along fine. However, we've been hanging out this week and i think im attracted to him. Jesus the predicament im in. I know for a fact i can't do anything, i must keep it professional and to be taken seriously of. I don't want others to think i slept my way to the top! I just wasn't expecting to feel such a strong attraction to him. 😢

And its so delicate too...i mean i can't be stone cold and ignore him . People like working with good friends..not some person they dont know..so for me to get the job, i need to be establish good relationships with the film crew here. With my personality its very easy to do..however, with males i find they just fall head over heels for me if i'm myself. And if inhibit myself while socializing with people in this industry (male dominated of course)..they would think i have no opinions, too quiet, rude, confusing, selfish. That is because im confused on how to be myself without making them like me. ( i know its not all the time, but for this situation it is!) How would you guys go about handling yourself in balancing this situation?

I have dated both. (Cap, Virgo, Pisces) I like Earth signs for their practicallity and warmth. They are warm family oriented and I like that. 🙂 I enjoy them as friends, as relationships...they just don't work out for me. I am social by nature...love meeting new people and I enjoy/need intellectual stimulation from various people and the two Earth signs that I have dated, could not understand that.

Water signs...there is a natural understanding of the emotional nature of Pisces and what they are feeling (I am a water sign by trade), however, the air in my chart does not allow me to "go there" fully if that makes sense. Water signs can be too emotional for me.

I understand your concern though. I would say, just be yourself.....that's all you can be 🙂

Or, you could always bring the paddle 😛

yeahhh thats IT that very warmth..he is very family oriented and just so chivalrous. I'm curious what his placements are. I feel strongly that he is a virgo. But like you mentioned, i fear that he wont do well with my inconsistencies...my nature is the same! i love talking to new people, doing new things, unplanned, and even rebellious things.

what are your placements anyways? 😄 did you argue a lot with the earth signs? if so what were the topics that they would drill you about?

As far as the Earth signs, sometimes it would turn into an arguement, and I do not enjoy arguements. I like how you used "drill"...lol, it's like you already know! I hope I don't scare you off with my experiences. I sure don't want to ruin a potentially good thing for ya. I'm sure not all Earth signs are the same.

This was many years ago but from what I can remember, as we got further into the relationship, I realized that he was co-dependant. Relied on me for EVERYTHING. I couldn't breathe and eventually the relationship ended. I've noticed this trend with the female Virgos I've worked with too. For them, it's the mentality of "expectation" simply because they are dating. Very much needed the "title" and everything that is supposed to go with it.

We just have different outlooks on life and of the world. I'm pretty happy and positive and he was negative and critical.

My placements are Gem rising, Scorp sun, Aries moon/Aqua Venus, Aqua mid-heaven and Merc/mars in Sag. Fi-ya! 🙂 What about you...what are your placements?

My family, like my mother has Mercury in Scorpio, so does my sister, and my husband, but my Aries sun sister has a Mercury in Pisces, not to mention most of her planets are in pisces. Sometimes, it's usually the aspects that make it stronger. My mother's planets with her hades moon just intensifies everything. I get her so it's not a problem.
If you need to be stimulated in a "certain" way, you'll most likely just fall into it very easily.
I remember you mentioned you were drawn to your gemini? if you look to his mercury maybe that might be the "clues" of your need of communication. My ex's had pisces mercury, and for some reason i just get them,like i do my sister.

LIsabethur8 That is a interesting point you brought up that Mercury would be a good sign to determine if we can communicate towards one another in the right manner. My mercury is in capricorn and his is in virgo and maybe thats why our first impression is good we communicate in a similar fashion.

BTW, you must be a very balanced person, looking at your placements you have water as you sun, but you have fire and air in you. I can't imagine how sufficating it must've been based on your placements it seems you will need a lot of passion and mental space to be happy. how long was the relationship? because im starting to notice bits of pieces of that in our interaction with each other. Hes now ignoring me then he is talkative then he would be silent. last night he texted me and because i was out with friends i couldn't respond to him..within 10 mins he texted me "awesome zone great talk tomorrow" (probably mistyped a lot) He sounds as if hes bothered im not responding in a "timely" manner...and to chat tomorrow shrugs. Im usually pretty right about these sorta things. Sooo if now he's being like this..i cant imagine in a long term relationship!! that would be insane. I'm sorta like you where i need a lot of mental space to be happy.In this case i prefer to never be "drilled" EVER.

🙂 you have your moon in gemini so it really helps: the mercury connection.
I know, personally a gemini/virgo couple together over 25 years, and my sis is with a virgo, and his planets are mostly fire.
virgo men are....quite different, you can't put your finger on it. so those with strong planets in them, have similarities...workaholics, yes. so if you like your freedom to do what you want to do with work and hobbies, but at the end of the day, enjoy being together, it's very nice. Plus, virgo the sign itself is very particular, and very picky about who they choose. (similar to their border signs) Ironically she's a sag and he's a virgo, so the freedom is very good with them. He even took up a 2nd job on the weekend cause it will bore him to be at home. He loves the open space and sports. but the other virgo with the gemini is the type that gets super nervous if he is stressed out too much so he needs his space and stay home more. but at the same time work. they're very sweet, very gentlemanly types. 🙂 you're very lucky if you land one.

It was very suffocating to say the least! The relationship lasted about 1 1/2 (this is when I was in high school). Mental space is very important to me. I need that space to do whatever, the challenge is meeting the person who TRULY understands this and will not be upset/mad when I need that time, and who won't think that I don't like them anymore. Sure, I've met and dated those that claim that they do, but in the end, if they really understood that, there would be no drama! (Although, it gives me lots to write about 😛) I want/need my partner to give me as much mental space as I give them, because I'm not thinking that they are doing anything "suspicious". I like when my partner even my friends can go without contact for a bit. That way when we do meet up again, we can share stories and adventures!

Earth sign like a capricorn is good in my books. Their patience and hardwork makes them compatible with most.

I can't stand virgos for mroe than 30 minutes. I don't care what astrology says but virgos and aquas together is the worst match possible. Put two intellectuals with different approaching to thinking = disaster!

Taurus is too horny and too conservative for an aqua's kookiness.

i like capricorns but they can be too serious for me.

taurus are soooo boring my gawd, im asleep when im hanging out with one. the men especially bore the living day/night lights out of me. I guess the only fun part of a taurus is well, ....nope can't think of any. However, they are pretty chill.if i want to just chill..i look for a taurus.

virgos...i haven't had many virgos in my life. I have only one virgo friend back home we get along fine, he sometimes annoys me though. He is a big cry baby and very negative at times..his stories about his lovers are ridiculously stupid. he makes it so difficult. I tune out when he vents to me..and if i say anything it will be such a long conversation perhaps 8 hours! =disaster. have you had many virgos in your life? dated one?

out of all the earth though, i would choose capricorns. Their ambitious nature intrigues me they are always doing something new and try to acclimate into a higher rank.

Not to bash on Virgos, but I agree. I can be friends with them, however, I can only tolerate so much. I like the Cappies. Mom is a cappy. I like her "homieness" and her hard work. We differ on many opinions and have different mindsets, but it's her work ethic that I like. I don't agree with how some will step on others to get what they want or how some will "latch" on to those in a position of power in order to advance themselves. Some Cappies though will see that when you agree with them or like how they approach things, they think that you want to be like that and then try to dominate.

Yes....water puts out fire. But so does Earth! Being trolled? lol I had to look that up. Most of the time, I know it's happening, but I just ignore it. I know what they are doing and I like to give people rope. They will hang themselves eventually. I don't play games with people. I am comfortable with who I am and where I'm at at this point in my life. Most mistake my non-engagement as "it must be ok to keep doing what I'm doing" I've already cashed in and checked out.
