Should I start initiating contact?

He randomly mentioned how I never contact first unless he initiates. Which is true. I do that because I thought I was annoying him since he is short with responses and would fall asleep before replying so I always thought he would be the first to text me since he didn't reply the night before. When I mentioned it, he said I fall asleep so I don't reply but still you can reach out the next day but you never do.. Should I start contacting first? Or keep this going as he seems to be on his toes and texts me everyday finally..

Yes. No matter the situation, one person always initiating will start to wear on anyone.

yep, I will lose people quickly that are like that if it gets excessive

another thing that is a pet peeve is when you call a so called friend and you say hey how are you doing just called to chat are you free ? and then they immediately respond with "what did you want" lol ok, bye then - I never want and/or need anything from anyone

Talk to him about it. If his suggestion makes sense to you then feel free to agree with him. If not, find a way to meet half way. Example If you were the last one to text he should be the first one to text the following day. If he was the last one to text you should be the first one to text in the morning. You dont want to appear too eager or too uninterested. Just the right balance will be the key 🙂

lol that's TMI for a Capricorn and anyone else IMHO - if I feel like saying something I text, if not, and he doesn't text or call first so what ? please - the phone etiquette these days is f'd up so why even bring text etiquette into play
