Your Thoughts on Valentine's Day?

Just curious for conversation's sake.

yuck!!! one day of the year to say you love someone. Just show me you love me the rest of the days of the year.

I'm trying to work out which part of me is bashing it and which part of me is loving it.

I can see the commercial side of it and it's almost disheartening to see that people need a special occasion or a special day to tell someone that they love them. I thought the whole point of loving someone is just that... it doesn't demand a special requirement to fulfill. Why does a particular have to do with anything and certainly how does investing money and showering people with gifts any more indication than "I'm rich I buy things for you".

Anyway Mr Negative over, I do see the point of this day. Perhaps it's a reminder to us that we all have the courage to do what we really want to do. Maybe people to need to feel that strength every now and then and to take that leap of faith. Whether it be venturing into new grounds, reigniting old flames or whatever the purpose. Or perhaps the realisation some people don't often think as I do and simply need and value this day as forms of self-reassurance.

I know I sound like I hate but quite the opposite.

My Aqua is actually really looking forward to it. He acknowledges that it can be overhyped, but he says he still wants to have an excuse to love shamelessly. He's planning on us going wine tasting, and to the natural hot springs, and dinner after 🙂

But he has Venus in Pisces, remember. In the Scorpio decan, at that.

sucks big time to FEEL like you HAVE to display love on that particular day... I mean I loved you all year all these years, seriously

Valentine's Day is just another day to me. Considering I've never actually participated in it, that would be the case. I think it's a good excuse to go out and do something nice with your s/o, but that's about it. I don't expect it to be any more loving, but definitely a bit fun, especially if we're going out to eat when normally I would have to cook, or something.

Love/ hate attitude towards Valentines, it's all a bit relative really - I go along with the other person...
if they are in I'm all in!
If they are cynical or whatev's I blow it off like I couldn't give a * either... I think it evens out but I don't like the commercial aspect... I could use a foot rub any day of the week... and I cook for my loved ones all the time because I love them- all the time.
Not just on one day of the year lol

I think nothing of it really.

Never celebrated the 'V' day with anyone. I'm going to treat myself and my family coz they are my loveeeeeee 🙂

my little brothers birthday is on valentines day 🙂 thats how i usually celebrate it

my hubs puts up with it too! I sing-song to him all the time and snuggly wuggle him. He groans but his big smile gives it away!! yay!

me and hubby are pretty simple people. We dont'like too much extravagance, (plus we are trying to save!!!) I usually make a nice big bubble bath for us. My hubs is just a snuggle wuggles wug wug!! *shakes happily with joy*

Its a weird day where grown women walk around carrying teddy-bears IN PUBLIC. I never quite undestood the reason behind the "i love u" bears & cups, its strange. The day has no meaning for me, but I do enjoy watching the buzz & excitement from other people. I might buy myself some lingerie, make dinner and eat infront of my huge living-room mirror while listening to the soundtrack of Titanic. Who said you cant be sexy & romantic alone?

No i dont like being pampered. Nor do i get distant things are expected on the day.
