I'm all about authors coming up with their own ideas or finding inspiration with out asking anyone to guide them.. so already I'm uninterested.

If that helps any..

Typical....Please reread my original question. I stated that I am writing a funny astrological book,USING MY OWN IDEAS!!! I simply wanted some feedback as to what my readers would enjoy reading. Even if no one responded, the book would still exist. On the strength of you, I am going to go real hard on the Libras....LOL! I am joking😉

My point stands, feedback of what readers would enjoy is basically asking for ideas.. of what readers would like.
What's wrong with that?

It shows someone who's willing to figure out what their audience loves and what they want more of, rather than just writing something completely self involved with no real idea as to whether it's giving to anyone.

Idk. Just seems like a synthetic version of inspiration imo. I prefer a more organic approach, if that makes any sense. Tiz, you don't do it the same from what I've observed. You present your idea and prompt specific questions versus a very general, What do you want to read about guyz?

Oh I see what you mean. But that's just because I don't test on DXP. Here I just post thoughts.

Well when I did my latest book, it was only after I'd tested it with my own subsribers. Thousands of women on my newsletter. If you'd seen the whole process you would have thought yeah... how artificial. But it's necessary to know your audience.

Maybe not though. For example, this fairly established internet sensation known as Jenna Marbles regularly asks her fans what they want her to do a video on next. To me, that's different. You and her have well established fan-bases you are focusing on and therefore it is pretty awesome that you seek to cater to them.

The difference is building on what you've already conjured up by your own merit. At that point you're nurturing the community you've already created. @tiziani
Speaking of which, That is exactly what I am doing....Only my work is not yet published. My reasoning for creating this thread, is not to get ideas from people, but to kind of stir the pot on the ingredients that I had already conjured up. sort of to suit the masses tastes.

Not exactly.

To create a community you might start with say, a blog, gauge interest, react to your growing community if people are into what you offer.

To each his own.....Welp, I see no harm in what I am doing..... I will have a greater fan base, if I do things my way, and not give in to unconstructive criticism......

if i were to do it i would like heavy research presented in a light way with movie references.

i'd prefer it to be gender neutral coz astrology is already kinda gay. you don't see guys going "bro check out this new book divastrology 101!"

an ascendant book seems marketable as well.
You are right...I was gearing more towards the female population, but I guess I should stay neutral.....
