Hare just recommended book and I went looking for reviews.

One have a sample which is:

My question is - what is that woman not supposed to do before the ring but it's ok to do after the ring—

That's a bit extreme. It's not one or the other. There is a middle ground, I think. It makes sense to me. But, actually, I can see where what you described would be completely normal. Not everyone is as loose with their penii and vaginas as us Americans.
