Well you are 18
You think it'll change with time?
Being broke sure

I'm not broke, I just have a spending knack and like to spend my money on expensive things! I have a job with a great pay, I just like to have nice things for myself and my family so I spend like a great deal of money on things that don't actually have to be bought. I have a go get it type of attitude like if you say you want it I will go out of my way to buy it no matter the price! But not broke exactly I was referencing spending all of my money unwisely on unnecessary things!

Great pay at 18 is subjective.

You don't have to pay rent, car insurance, gas, groceries, health insurance, utilities, car repairs, cell phone, internet, etc... yet.
I work in a building with 4 adults; a home health care service and I am a clerk, work the same shift and get paid the same as them, if they can do it with kids (one has 1 (4) year old and the other has 2 (16) and (18) I think great pay is an understatement!

I have such a rich life style I'm trying to accomplish. I know we are supposed to be money wise, but give me a pretty penny and I'll spend it and not on anything thrifty! I only want the best stuff; no knock off, cheap shit. Any other non cheap cancers?
lol i was listening to horoscope for july, lady said we could outspend LEOS

and to watch our selves

im taking notes

I really feel like that is true — my dad is a Leo and likes to spend, but I think i do more spending because of my online shopping addiction SMH. But I buy more for others than myself, so maybe when it's just me I'll be more saving wise

1) A clerk should not know what other co-workers are making. For anyone to talk about wages openly, is a HR nightmare. So I doubt you ACTUALLY know their pay unless you are directly involved in doing actual payroll, and again you are a clerk, so doubt that.

2) Clerks are entry level positions that make more than minimum wage, but less then "stellar" pay. But at age 18, it would be seen as extremely good pay.

3) You have no idea what other aspects monetarily wise, your co-workers are obtaining. Are they receiving aid, child support, etc?? Are they single or double income households? Are they getting subsidized housing? Receiving state health care? You don't know.

4) Home service workers typically work long hours, and aren't really paid stellar amounts of money.

You're 18, and don't truly understand anything. And the fact that you are getting defensive over this, shows it.

i dont know why they are in deep debt, but maybe it has to do with spending habits and their upbringing. Tori Spelling is a Scorpio moon and she was raised very very wealthy, and she admitted online on youtube she dont want to live under her means cause she is so used to the wealthy life. very smart. you understand what's going on.

especially those adults who have families working in a minimum wage or a little over full time job at the home care. they may most likely be getting subsidized income from the government.

we were always wondering how is it that one of our family member's who have four children, could only have one parent working full time while the other parent stays home to take care of the children, be able to afford this? they were receiving subsidized income from the government and there are cases where the government also gives you money for food and extra expenses for the children, like at least a thousand a month if you have more than one child.

Yes it will change with time. If you start living on your own, you will have to learn to budget.

It depends on your circumstance. Never talk about money ...i mean in RL...

No one is in your circumstances but you. You might be able to spend...it depends on where you have already savings and health insurance ..good job ..if your parents invested for you.

Others will need to save for those.

I know kids who chose not use the money their parents put away for college ..for college..Because it didn't cover their entire education and they use the excuse ..i didn't want to be in debt. But they spend it ..within like 6 yrs ..and have nothing for it ...yet don't use it for college fearing getting into partial debt...I think THAT is crazy.

You need levels you can progress through. And benefits. In some careers you should be aiming to get a promotion or progress in 1 - 2 yrs if that is not happening you need to reassess either your performance or where you work. If it's a small business ...there might be less opportunity for progression.

it's really expensive to have children. you put away for their college education ect.

and health /life insurance, ect.

but it's a choice for children when they get to college age if they want to use it for college, that's what it's there for.

edit --

why is this titled, "expensive but broke' lol 😆

The vast majority of young people flash with cash ...or unstressed by it do. The only self made woman with wealth gave me some good advice. NEVER compare yourself financially to others.

They may say they did it all alone ...or they had nothing handed to them....but when you look at they are not fooling anyone. It's just something people avoid being honest about so accept that. I wouldn't expect people to be honest about it. I would never advise people to go putting their financial info out there ..so why would they?

90 % wealthy young people ..are on family money or favors. It doesn't mean they are bad people or whatever ...but that is reality.

I don't think it should be a choice ..if someone gave you money for a specific thing and you didn't use it for that you should not pend it on junk...use it wisely. But that is what happens for a lot of young people so don't compare your life style to theirs.

You are not your money or your job you are you. Rich or broke. it doesn't matter.

Sag's are notorious for being impulsive spenders. 2nd house is your house of money.

You can't use celebrities as counter examples. They aren't real people. Oprah has more money than god and couldn't spend it all if she tried.

i notice that Lindsay Lohan has 1st house sun, and her moon taurus is in the 11th house, her Capricorn mars is in the 8rd house and she's got 3rd house Venus leo.

gemini rising.

the only thing she has in her 2nd is her mercury. basically mercury is her money house.

first house sun, 11thhouse moon 8th house mars. 3rd house venus.

it's like having Aries sun/Aquarius moon/Gemini venus/Mars Scorpio/mercury taurus in translation

with Gemini rising

Tori Spelling,

she has 3rd house Sun, moon in 9th house, venus in 4th, and mars in 1st house,

basically she has Gemini sun/Sagittarius moon/Venus cancer/Aries mars translation.

It's because she's super rich that her placements don't mean jack. She's one of the wealthiest people and has a team of professionals to handle her money for her.

She couldn't be a more different person from the op despite them sharing this one placement.

So agree to disagree.

Oprah Winfrey has Sagittarius Rising and moon and shes a billionaire.

her planets are in the 2nd house.

Same thing with Jennifer Aniston. (i dont know any other sagittarius moons with different suns, i'm gonna have to research)

she's never in debt. You dont hear them being in debt, like say, someone like Tori Spelling who is in serious debt or Johnny Depp or even a Taurus mooner, like Lindsay lohan.

i dont know why they are in deep debt, but maybe it has to do with spending habits and their upbringing. Tori Spelling is a Scorpio moon and she was raised very very wealthy, and she admitted online on youtube she dont want to live under her means cause she is so used to the wealthy life. Which is hard for her to live frugal that's why she's in debt.
Sag's are notorious for being impulsive spenders. 2nd house is your house of money.

You can't use celebrities as counter examples. They aren't real people. Oprah has more money than god and couldn't spend it all if she tried.

yes you can because it helps us see what happens to their lives and what they did with it having those placements.

they're not imaginary.

just because she's super rich, doesn't make her any less alive.

It's because she's super rich that her placements don't mean jack. She's one of the wealthiest people and has a team of professionals to handle her money for her.

She couldn't be a more different person from the op despite them sharing this one placement.

So agree to disagree.

The road to brokenness

you will approach soon

if you don't ease buying

so much you don't need.
