If you truly like the guy, present yourself in a favourable way to appeal to him. I believe any guy, not just a cancer guy, would appreciate a lady who is respectful. Confidence is nice but there really is no need to disparage his current gf, even if he himself is speaking ill of her. After all, he is with her & must have had a reason choosing to be with her. Any ill comments towards the gf are bound to also 'reflect' on him. Whether he will in the end break up with his current gf or not should not be catalysed by you. Ok, from my experience & that of my close Cancer friends (including my Scorpio best friend's Cancer man), things Cancers may like & dislike that Scorpios can be prone to:

Likes:
- being made to feel special
- the way Scorpios look at you
- dedication/determination
- good sense of humor
- sharing music or other interests
- being a little mysterious & intriguing but not to the point of playing games or not letting us in
- sexiness while seeming like they aren't even trying
- magnetism
- strength

Dislikes:
- jealousy, (this is a big turn off, Scorps can at least try to keep their jealousy to themselves & will come across as more confident that way)
- hacking down other people, (this comes from a place of insecurity & wouldn't you not want to appear so insecure? Scorps like to appear confident & powerful right?)
- holding grudges
- being distant/silent or hot & cold, (we can take this personally & not understand why you're doing it even if you think it's clear)
- angry outbursts
- saying things you don't mean or haven't thought through

Oh and also we like when Scorps do things to show their love, as opposed to just saying it but having inconsistent actions. Like if the Scorp cooks for us, gets us a thoughtful gift, shares a song they really thought we'd like, shows affection, etc. Then we feel special & cared about. Being too crazy & jealous & tearing apart other people or being superficial doesn't show love (or trust). It shows insecurity.

Yeah the thing about him though is that he is a cancer/leo cusp so he's not the typical shy cancer and i'm a virgo/libra.
