I actually feel this is true. Especially for me. Like there is something missing.

Honestly, I partly think it's the form of communication we are using now.
Text, email, IM. All distant forms of communication.
Perhaps its the connection to humanity that we are missing.
I have always hated people see. Never wanted to really deal with them because on some level I was either disappointed, hurt or angry. But now I am yearning for a real connection. It's almost like I am wasting my passion. I want to express passion and emotion. But society really frowns on outward expression.
Having gone back over some of the last pages in this thread I can see your point now.
It's not deep thought or expression of emotion. More surface flirtation.
I understand the need for fun though. But to deny ourselves the passion and depth of emotion that our sign is capable of is a disservice.click to expand
If you cant be real on a website in a discussion forum with people that dont know your true identity, then I think its sad. I think just from the last few pages those surface flirtations were just to lighten the mood from my emotional out pour. Sometimes we gotta laugh to keep from crying, so lets keep a happy medium so we dont drown in here. Surface emotions should be welcomed, emotions are emotions. I really do appreciate you creating this thread.

This thread is officially spam. Something Purr's "Mood Swing Thread"'s never was. Granted that those threads never had a chance to be anything, but, it never would've been anything like this, cause it had a purpose, unlike this, which is why, this thread, is officially spam.
If you don't know what i'm talking about, that was a very quick and dirty history lesson about the history of this thread, a place for cancers to come here and vent or express their emotions and thoughts, a "crab sanctuary".
All what is now is a place for horny cancer women to tell Scorpio men how much of horny cancer women they are.
This thread has been all of that and more. Something Purrs thread never was.
Cancer women expressing their desires is a form of expression.
The purpose of this thread was there to be a PERMANENT place for Crabs to express their emotions, moods, vents. And you can still do that.

I hadn't really thought about it until Cheesburger raised the subject the other day, so now I'm gonna run with it.
Why can't we have a thread for us Crabs with a better TITLE, something more general and inviting to all, women AND men?
I have no problem with this thread being here but it's not MY sanctuary.
To me, the title "mood swing" suggests it's more of a place for women on their periods to hang out and rant 😄
We Cancer men already cop enough flack for being overly sensitive or emotional so announcing to the world that a mood swing thread is our default home on this board doesn't gel well with me.

Yes, it evolved that way but not because of the threads "title".
My opinions have nothing to do with the thread contents, my personal feelings about LunarMaiden or, PurrHiss, for that matter, nor do I have a problem with the existence of this thread.
It's the title of the thread, it sends the message out there and to anyone new to astrology that Crabs are defined by "mood swings"
Every human has changes in mood, happy, sad, lazy or whatever, but not everyone, including Cancer people have "swings in mood".
I think the title generates a negative connotation if it is to become "generally accepted" as our little home.
That's my whole point for wanting a home thread for all Crabs, with a title that represents more generally and appropriately who we are....does that make any sense to anyone?
It doesn't have to be my crab lounge chat thread...I can't force people to think of my thread or post in it.
I'm ok with LunarM or any of the other stayers creating a thread for the Crab board.
It's just that I think the "title" of this thread is disharmonious with the vibe of the thread and is not a true representation of me, as a Crab, or Cancer peeps in general.click to expand

Are you brothers telling me you are happy with putting it out there that you are 'mood swingers' and that this is the attribute you would like to be known for, when in fact it is the females who are more prone to mood swings and that they embrace their mood swings?
Are you happy to let this notion embed itself into the modern psyche of the general public?

I think that perception is already out there, thanks to the cat ladies, and those few Crab males who do fit the stereotype.

I might recommend maybe two threads-one for thoughts, etc that are kind of like one sees on this thread, but not necessarily a bitch session, and the other to share Crab perspectives.
For the first one, maybe the rule is that posts should stay to the random thoughts/feelings Crabs are having at the time, which is sort of what I see as what the Mood Swing thread has morphed into. Along with that, pissing and moaning posts should create their own thread.
For the second, the rule should be that it is for Crabs only. We get enough threads from non-crabs here on how crabs think, feel, eat , and take a dump when the majority of the time it's projection of the OP/individual poster. For such a thread, I would propose that non-crab content goes unacknowledged by crabs posting there. Don't get me wrong, there are IMHO some non-crabs that do have a good understanding of crab personality and it is refreshing, but even in those cases I would hold to the unacknowledgement rule (bend or break the rule for them, and you end up breaking it for all). Now, there are some Crabs here that have demonstrated an inability to respect boundaries/rules (I don't have to mention names, they're pretty obvious). I would suggest that the acknowledgement rule applies to them when they start to misbehave.

My oldest and dearest friend is a Gemini....and so are both my parents. I've never had a problem with them. Also, the best friend is married to a Cancer, and has 2 Cancer kids (and a Scorpio....and 2 scorpio grandkids). Seems that the air and water works this way. ~shrugs~
