You explained it just fine.
Crabs can be possessive for sure. Their claws cling tightly, and they can have a difficult time letting go. Once they do though, they come to terms with whatever it is they're going to let the current take away forever. Any emotion tied to it is also cut loose. In the case of an ex, it doesn't matter if they are doing good or horrible. The crab no longer feels anything for that person. The only reason why they even remain a memory is because crabs never forget what touches their hearts.

They truly are very mysterious tho. No two are the same, all them are so individually unique. I've know between 15 to 20 of them, the only thing they all have in common is predictably unpredictable ?
